Another lean question

my bronco has a severe lean to the passenger rear side. The frojt passenger side is lower than the driver front as well but not near like the rear. I replaced the body mounts a few months ago with no luck of fixing the lean. If you drive it for a while it's like the lean works itself out somewhat and then once parked for a while it's like it sags itself back down. I've read and heard about the c bushings.

Another thing that throws me off is that there is a gap between the bottom of the tailgate and bumper on drivers side that gets smaller as the tailgate moves from driver to passenger side. The body mounts did make the pass side gap a little bigger between tailgate bottom and bumper but still not as much of a gap as on drivers side.

I'm experiencing the same issue although it leans opposite side. I've noticed as well that after driving it's not nearly as noticeable but after sitting for a few days the sag gets worse. Based on some other threads I'm thinking it's the leaf springs but I don't know if there is anyway to isolate it and know for sure. Definitely interested if you track this down. Good luck!

I had a local body shop swap sides on the lead springs and it still didn't throw the lean to the other side. All of my body mounts look fine and I just replaced them too. It has definitly been a brain twister.

It seems that most Bronco lean has to do with the c-bushings on the front installed wrong. Particularly if they're just being put on on the road. Mine developed the condition after several years. I looked at every spring, even the back springs. After I swapped them out, I settled on it being the frame. Well eventually I found that my front axle tube had spun. I'm betting it's c bushings on yours.

Have you check to make sure the bolts for the leave springs are not to tight? Have you made sure your radius arm c cups in front are tight? Because you say it changes a bit after driving.

He also said the gap under the tailgate is taller on one side than the other. That says body mount or bent frame to me

Exactly. That has to be settled before any worrying about the suspension no matter what.
If you have crooked gaps, either the body is bent or sagging due to rust or abuse, the frame is bent or failing due to whatever reason, or the new body mounts were done inconsistently.
Or just the tailgate is on crooked? That last seems less likely than the others, but you can't rule out anything on an EB.
So fix the body lean and then fix any suspension lean. Since you're going by visual clues, both have their effect.

And speaking of clues, have you actually measured between the frame and the axles to see if the lean is as extensive as the body indicates? I know you gave the measurements, but where were they taken?

Measured several places along the whole bronco and mostly came up with the passé ger side being 3/4" Atleast low on that side. From what I can see and what the shop said when they put the body bushings in said the mounts were fine. All my doors and tailgate and holy lines line up perfectly and open easily.

When i took my body mounts out to put my body lift on there was an extra washer between the bushings and the body all the way down the passenger side. I did not put them back in at first. But when i got done my bumpers looked crooked. So i took a bunch of measurements and concluded that the extra washers were body shims from the factory. So i put them back in an walah! Body level to bumpers. Now i have a small drivers side lean but im ok with that cause it is in the suspension. When i regear and rebuild the front adel i may try to get it more level

I just looked at all the body mount positions and they all looked to be solid on both body and frame ends. The broco has a pin stripe sticker down the side of it that's been on there for who knows how long and it's still all lined up. I know it could have been put on after the lean developed. Doors and tailgate all line up perfectly. So my issue is either c bushings or where?

Measure between the frame and body on both sides. I will bet you have less distance on the passenger side. If so then install washers between the body lift puc and the body to kevel out

Did you ever track down this issue? The symptoms sound identicle to mine.
