Are all c4's the same?

I'm looking at buying a rebuilt c4 that was out of a 66 mustang. My question is it the same tranny as my c4 that's in my 73 bronco, specifically the nose length and output shaft splines and things like that? Thanks!

Bronco and truck C4s have several differences that make them much more heavy duty than the car C4s.

Car C4 will need to be opened up and have the output shaft swapped to the correct Bronco output. Even with doing this, it will still be a car C4 and not the heavier duty truck version.

Not even close. Wrong output shaft and any c4 made prior to 1970 isn't worth using. Weak parts.

And i believe that a bronco c4 is unique to the bronco. Not interchangeable anythng else. I dont recall what is different but there are parts that are unique to a bronco. If i remember right i read that on here somewhere

Length/spline count of output shaft, shift lever and pan are unique. Add in all the other HD C4 parts from trucks and vans and you have a Bronco C4.
