About fordman, I did not ship the gasket to him. HE PICKED IT UP. If you bought a part from autozone and drove across town or across the state would you expect them to pay your return shipping? .

[/end thread]

That was the perfect analogy. Walmart made me drive back a few weeks ago too! I guess I should have pushed for them to send me return postage! ;D

I thought you did too ,

maybe it's time for a picture of a rabbit with a pancake on it's head

ROFLMAO, This thread is so wrong on so many levels, I believe that I belong on this site...

And I plan on buying a BC Bronco's EFI Fuel Tank soon...

Just have to save enough bananas!

Meh, dealing with the public is a hoot sometimes.

Fact is, I have more issues with a different vendor, not because of service but because they NEVER have the part I need. The last 4 times I've called them, they don't carry the part, which has been good for you chuck. You've been the receipent of the second call twice, (I try to spread the love).

Keep up the good work.

This sums it up.

I just have to say kudos to Chuck for even frequenting these forums. I'm in the restaurant business and we get customer complaints via email all the time. Seems bad but its a minuscule percentage of patrons who walk through my door.

If I had to come onto a forum and defend every one of those dining experiences I would say to hell with it all. Its easy to concentrate on the 99.9% who are happy and earn your $$$$. It's putting up with the 0.01% that tests your patience. An online forum with tough guys via keyboard would have me on a very short fuse.

Good on ya Chuck.

As far as the picking up parts analogy, try taking care of a guests meal because they tried something different off the menu and didn't like it. Nothing is wrong with it, they just didn't like it. Happens all the time and still blows my mind why we are suckers for that one.

The way I have to do it w/ water heaters I buy from my supply house, if any part is defective, the customer HAS to deal w/ the manufacturer... not the supply house. So at this point this should be on DC to ship a new one to Fordman or at least cover shipping costs for the new and old back to Chuck so he can recieve proper credit on his invoice to DC.

Chuck (BC) always been great w/ me on all my questions and orders, I will buy from him again.... then again I know what its like to be self employed, so I am pretty patient when it comes to the vendors I like all of the vendors( of which I will not buy from one particular) not due to customer service but more of a personal preference.

I'm done with this, bash me all you want. I didn't threaten him, I told him that I was going to let everyone know about my experience, and I did. I bet after this B.C.'s customer service skills will improve and all of you will benefit from it, that was my point.

Hey FordMan. While I empathize with your pain, would you mind doing me a favor? Would you be so kind as to remove the "San Diego" from your profile? You're making the rest of us look bad. OK, take care, KuttySark

okay I'm chiming in to help beat down this horse...
personally, I'm totally happy with the service I've gotten from all of the vendors I've used. when there's a problem (rare) it gets solved lickity split.

could be that the attitude you put in is the same attitude you get out!;)

I really kinda hafta wonder though...why in the world would you order a seperate gasket? I got a windshield for my EB from a local place (Binswanger Glass- Castle Rock, Co), and wouldn't ya know, they also got a gasket for it!

we should get a priest to administer last rites.

and Fordman, if you remove you present location S. Cal from your posted info, pls don't add Texas because real Texans don't act like this.

I'd like to close this out with these thoughts:

As much as I hurt Chucks feelings, I know that some the comments made on here will help his business.

I now know his returns policy, there were many comments made about defective products that were shipped and he didn't pay to have them shipped back. If he changed that policy I know his business will increase.

Also his business will be better by being available during regular working hours, which he already acknowledges.

I also know he has a big ego, so do I, I know that in certain cases he will bend over backwards to help people, so will I. If I feel I've been wronged I get pissed and won't put up with it.

I think in the end if he would have had a little more patience on the phone then we could have worked it out, I would have been a little easier to deal with if I hadn't had to call again and again and again etc. to get a person to talk to. I should have opened the package at the store, no doubt.

I wouldn't suggest people stop using him, I acknowledge he is a great asset to this community, the work that I saw at his shop was top notch. But as a customer we like to be treated special and for you to show your appreciation of our business.
