Ford motorsports has an adaptor to space the short to the tall. Don't know how much that helps you.

Might either go with an aftermarket (summit) or reuse....pulley alignment is at issue....

What's the number? What other info do you know about the motor? Being a truck part number it could be from a 302 or a 351w. The big difference is going to be the balance.

Well, until you find a casting number for the block, it's gonna be tough to get that damper precise. I know....big help huh.

My suggestion is to contact Damper Dudes and show them these photographs.....if they're willing to review it with you. Ultimately, it might be better just to send them your old one and let them provide something that matches.

The PO of my 351 engine was on a quest to get the most fan spacing he could. He found a waterpump pully that set back an inch from stock. He then had a machine shop turn down the face of his harmonic balancer an inch so the pulleys would line up. Luckily I knew this going in, so when I had my engine rebuilt (the first time...) I gave them the new harmonic balancer and told them the face will need to be turned to match the old one.

My balancer(s) look exactly like your old one. I think I still have the old one. I can check the casting number when I get home if you like.

The casting number from you old balancer says its off a truck engine. I'd take your new balancer back and see what else they come up with may 84/85 truck. I dont have my balancer book close or I'd look it up.

I am guessing that the old balancer was off a car and the new one appears to be from a truck. Maybe look at a balancer for a 89 Mustang. Not sure.

Makes sense. My 351 is originally from an 86 Econoline, and that's the balancer I bought. Again, my new one looked like Taskers new one, and my old one looked like Taskers old one.

Another option, which is probably cheaper, is to have the old one rebuilt.
