hey chuck good luck on the move..
I'm looking at leaving Calif too.. It has become a pay to get to get screwed state..
Pay an extra buck to get over a bridge.. Pay to much for gas because Calif has to special formulated gas and then they change it every 6 months.. God I live the seirra foothills and when I go to town its like I meet every rude sick bastard on the road and in the parking lots.. When did SUVs become compacts... the door dings are crazy... My friends in manufacturing are tellling me that things are slowing down here and it could be another wave of business leaving Calif..

I guess I missed that movie, sorry.
It's all good Chuck. It's an older movie about the experience of a person going through Marine Corps Boot Camp and then on to Viet Nam. Being a former Marine myself... It's always on the top of my favorite movie list.

I meant no disrespect to Texas or Texans. Just trying to have a little fun and trying to convince you to come to NM so I can change my careers. ;D ;D ;D

Never been big on brownie points, but point taken. Just pokin' him a little after his talk about Texas.
I'm not big on bwornie points either so we do have something in common. Plus our Broncos so... you may not have as many issues as I originally pointed out.

I admit, I may be a little rough around the edges and most people don't get my sense of humor. But, if you ever got to know me, you'd realize that 99% of the time I'm only trying to help or be humorous.

Truce?

Holy Crap -- I go away for a weekend and look what happens! Chuck is moving to the Great State just in time for a border war between us and NM! (Lighten up mi amigos -- both you guys are better than those recent posts!)

Chuck -- Nice to have ya joinin' the party here in Texas. We love it when the "good" ones come East..maybe we can swap out some of the "not so good ones" and send them West! ;D ;D

I swear I didn't leak the news -- I've been mindin' my biz over in Lubbock the past few days, and only found out about this thread when I hooked up with with another Bronco Brother out there (that's another story!).

Maybe it was that big o'l freakin' motor home that gave ya away! ;D You guys are gonna love it here, and we're honored to have ya. Hollar if you need help with the move -- we'll definitely see ya in Enscenada in Nov., if not before. And remember -- Mi Casa Su Casa, Amigo.

We liked Payson and Prescott a lot but while we were looking the prices went up about 30% and even then there was very few comm. buildings available. It seem Californians have caused the price of property to go up so much in Or that they can't afford it either so they are doing the same thing to Az now.
As things are now people in orenge county are selling out and buying houses around me cash and having enough left over to retire. What I would like to know is where are the people getting their money that are buying the OC housing?

Eastern WA and Idaho and Montana are still cheap

Come on over to Abilene Chuck, you can get land pretty cheap and we are right on I20. Only about 2.5 hours from DFW and 5 hours from Austin... Just a thought...
Anywhere in TX is good for me, I can take a road trip and say HI and shake your hand...that is what I am looking forward to. Come on over and let us know over this way if you need anything...

Chuck, welcome to Texas. Don't worry too much about Hurricanes and Tornados in Comfort. The Hill country is awesome, I almost bought some land in Ozona two years ago, still kicking myself for that one.

Boy this is good news. Welcome Chuck! Another great reason to hit the Hill County in our Bronco's. Cant wait for opening day.

I cant believe no one has asked this question yet, but you can move material things no problem, they just go where ya take'm. But not so with people. So, is everyone employed by BC Broncos coming to Texas? As you can tell the way this tread is going, not everyone is partial with Texas. To each his own I say. So, are there going to openings at the new (and improved) facility? The wife and I have a place in Fredericksburg already.

And yes I have held my wife's purse while she shops, but since you can enjoy a cold beer on main street, sitting sure beats looking through fu-fu shops with her....

As every one else has echoed - Welcome to Texas!

I didn't let the rumor or news slip, honest.

When you do need to start outsourcing services do be sure to give us Lonestar guys a buzz, I know between the lot of us fabricators that we've run across many powdercoaters, machine shops, and materials supply houses over the years...and would have some input.

When you've settled in we'll do some bbq. (for those outside the Republic of Texas that doesn't mean propane-charred hamburgers).

And you'll be close by and hopefully able to attend our LEBC Spring RoundUp next April to commemorate the 40th Anniv. (see our write-up in latest BD from this year's gig)

And, oh, don't be tracking down those young gals that flipped you the bird. Out in the country you might find that one of those highly opinionated, Wrangler wearin' country girls will kick your a$$. And that is sometimes a bad way to start your day. Unless she's cute.

Thanks for not saying anything and for all the info about the hill country. I think I might have been able to whip the first girl....maybe she was about 16 and must have weighted 85 lbs. her bird finger was about the size of a lead pencil but she did have a big attitude.
