Best clutch for 1966, 170ci??

That is an aftermarket LUK diaphram style clutch. Not a stock clutch.
The crosshatch tells me it is (was) really new.

I recall the '66 had 2 different diameter clutches, that is the 9" version.

But that is about as far as my I6 clutch knoweledge goes. I think you can get a 9" I6 clutch for a '66 mustang and it will work.

I went through this several years ago. I believe I ended up with a Ford maverick clutch. Many of the clutches that are out there require you to do a little clearancing of the bell housing on the inside. I converted mine to an Automatic so I have the clutch and bell housing in the shed. If you want me to pull it out and find some numbers on it or get some photos I can do that for you.

I decided to order the 9.25" diaphragm style kit from Tom's Bronco Parts. It shipped today, looking forward to getting it in this weekend and back on the road where I can enjoy it!
