Hey guys I am considering going from carb to factory ford maf efi. I currently have a ford racing 5.0l crate engine based off the 80s block. Its full roller with gt40x aluminum heads. its right around 350hp/ 350 ft lbs torque. I am wondering which intake upper and lower to use with this engine? I have a 2 inch body lift, and heavy duty motor mounts. No hood scoop and a factory steel hood. Im interested in factory intakes as well as aftermarket like trick flow and edelbrock.

The GT40 is an exceptional intake. Most of the aftermarket intakes won't even reference it because it is nearly impossible to beat. There is the economy version with a cast upper used in the Explorer and mustang cobra. Skip the 94/5 cobra upper.

There are a few really good flowing intakes, but they are for real high RPM use, 7500 range. A little outside what would be best for you.

The one aftermarket I really like without being a full race intake is the BBK 5001 intake that looks to be out of production now.

X3 on the Explorer GT40 setup, gives you the low end you need yet still will perform up through 6000 rpm.

The factory Explorer GT40 intake is the one.

If you have money burning a hole in your pocket spend it on having TMoss Porting work it over or extrusion honing done to it.
