All,

We post representative dyno sheets on our website to help with conversations like these. I don't think many would argue, with High HP, and more "aggressive" cams, etc, heat is a product. With our Bronco Engine, that cam profile makes more toque at lower RPM than the "regular" 306. it also peaks out a little earlier, which is fine in a truck. you'd rather have it down low. It DOES run cooler. Thats a fact. We worked with Bronco shops pretty closely to design this one. We wouldn't offer it if the regular 306 or 347 was filling the same need. Plus, its a good looking engine! We're happy to take calls on these engines direct also. or you can PM us for a conversation. happy to help! Hopefully the flatter curve on the bronco engine, as well as increased idle Vac, is evident its a better matched combo for a truck.
In comparison to an iron head 347, While the 347's longer stroke picks up torque a bit earlier than the 306MAX, the 306MAX's better heads and roller camshaft keeps the torque curve up much longer in the RPM range. The 3472's torque falls off by 3900 rpm, the 306MAX keeps the torque up all the way to 5200 rpm. It shows how much cylinder heads play in making horsepower.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with BluePrint. My Bronco came to me with a newly installed iron head 347. It's really the wrong cam for a bronco, more of a mustang targeted motor, and upon swapping the cam I found issues with the cam bearings. Calling Blueprint to ask a simple question, not expecting anything from them as it was out of warranty and I was the second owner, they went above and beyond to help me out. Offered to send me gaskets and bearings, and followed up later to see if I needed anything else. I've been building motors for years and would typically build my own in this case, but what saw upon opening this one up was great quality control. Quality control checks and double checks everywhere in the bottom end. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, but I would still build my own if having the chance just because I like doing it.

Blueprint,

Thank you for your response, that is the information I was looking for. I’ll be replacing 2 motors after the first of the year and this motor is at the top of my list.

It is also my understanding that you can configure with the Explorer water pump so that I can setup for serpentine belt, is that correct?

Thanks everyone for the kind words, and glad to hear everyones good experiences.

We do sell front drive systems also, in very reasonable pricing, and multiple configurations. I have worked with my front drive suppliers (if you order from us directly) to sell our customers a complete front drive system, with the "shorty" explorer depth pump.

now if you want to do your own thing on the front drive, the standard timing cover, is for the standard rotation water pump, and can use a mech fuel pump. If you want one with a reverse timing cover, we can special build it that way, but you will lose the mechanical fuel pump option.

just call us direct when you're ready. you can ask for Johnny. I'll gladly discuss the options on the timing cover, front accessory drives we sell, etc.

Which is why I built a 347 roller with nice heads. Early torque (like 1100 rpm) through 5000.

Nice numbers Blueprint, and I'm glad you finally made a 306 version for Broncos. I wish you did that BEFORE I built mine. I could have saved some money. But for people with a stick and larger tires who need torque at a lower rpm, maybe offer a 347 roller with heads? 347's were usually higher revving for mustangs so the heads are there already. Maybe like a Comp Cam XE256H with a shorter duration?

331 is the high revving stroker for mustangs, 347 is pretty much a 351 but much much lighter.
