Has anyone had any experience with this engine. I have been looking for reviews and have not found much. I have seen some bad reviews back in 2007 on the net. But think these problems must be sorted out if no bad press since. Both summit and jegs sell them so I would thik they are ok. If anyone knows anything I would greatly appreciate any comments.

EVKennedy - Thanks for considering a BluePrint Engine! Please feel free to email or PM me if you have any questions on our engines! Before we just had the cast iron version, but will have details on a new aluminum head version shortly.

In the mean time, I know its not a Bronco, but here is one of our 347's. Its in a Mustang, but still gives you a good idea of idle quality etc.

Thanks and PM me if you have any questions!

Why buy a 347 when for the same money you can have a 408? IMO they are a waste of money especially given the 61 extra cubic inches you are giving up. They also will NEVER have the bottom end that a 351 based engine will!

Even a stock 351 is bigger then a 347. And the bottom end strength is day and night different. Plus as mentioned you can always stroke a 351 even bigger.

Personally I don't like the 347. Bad geometery in the block and light parts are stressed too much. Think that back in the 60's Ford had a nicely developed small block that started as a 221 and 260, upped to 289 and finally 302. I have no doubt that it was researched to go bigger. But engineering and R&D stepped in and forced a lot of changes to properly accomidate the bigger engine. That turned into the 351W. Bigger bearing journols to handle the larger loads, bigger bolts on the mains, heads and rods. Block casting beefed tremendously. Deck height raised to fit the longer rods for better rod angles.
