Guess I need to let my machine shop know they have a few chunks of Gold sitting in their shop. They have at least 2 302's that i know of.

So bottom line, I ask if they have ANY solution for me to get a 302 or their 302 based 306. Answer: NO.
I asked if they have any solution of fix for me (another engine, a supplier, anything), he said no.

Getting a refund of my 2k now and looking elsewhere. I have NEVER bashed a vendor, and have always been very understanding when problems arise. But our Ford car and truck guys need to know when a vender is wayyyy overpromising and wayyy under-performing.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience :(

Remember when we were picking up new ford roller blocks for under 300.00 I dont understand why the over bore to .040. Most 5.0 blocks I’ve seen had less than .010. Just pulled 2 recently from pull a part.

I had heard good things about them before I bought one. Had to end up swapping distributor which was caught in back order, luckily someone on here hooked me up.

I was very disappointed in how horrible they painted the blue and missed so many areas. Hated to disassemble just to repaint, they glued on gaskets and made a huge mess. 1 minute long painting by them would have saved me hours. Full assembled should not need torn apart.

That $750 I spent on a rollover 2000 Explorer w/ 231k miles at Copart wasn’t so bad after all. Ended up with a 4R70 and 5.0 with serp & efi. Stripped the block down last weekend and could see crosshatching on cylinder walls. Amazing.

I think I bought one of the last new old stock OEM Ford long blocks from a dealer parts in Prescott Az, they said it was in their shop over ten years. That was 2009. $600.

I don't actually believe that there is a 302 block shortage. I think it is more of a business case issue. While there are thousands of 302s across the country in junk yards and back yards, it is difficult to try and build a engine business plan on that context. Blueprint does not require a core which means no core charge, no shipping cores, no inspection of cores, and no department dedicated to dealing with cores (core blocks can be a mixed bag). Also, BP offers one of the best warranties at 30 months compared to most at 12 months. That would require fluxing every core and even then a 50 year old core could have issues not readily identified in the inspection process. Point is, if, and this is a big if, BP can indeed make their own reliable, high standard USA 302 blocks, and have them when needed, their business model works well. I am hoping in support of the resto hobby that they get this system working.

You need to get a better island. Same with Bill. Bill's island is going to sink with all the cast iron it is holding up.

whats the difference between the seasoned 302s and the new block version? if you are doing a crate engine wouldn't you want the new block version?
