Bronco won't start with instrument cluster removed?

Doing a quick refurb on my instrument cluster. Removed it and now the Bronco won't start. Is the ignition switch somehow tied into it or did I bump something loose?

What did you do with the main power wire running through the ammeter?

Well, if main power runs through there and everything is disconnected and removed, that probably explains why it won't crank.

I connected the main power wire for the sake of putting the bronco back in the garage, but it still wouldn't start.

Any ideas?

Good morning guys.

So, can anyone confirm that my bronco should not crank with my speedometer cluster removed? I reconnected the power cable that goes through the ammeter and still no crank. Did I knock something else loose?

Nope. Should be fine if the ammeter wire is connected. Make sure it's in park or neutral. If the headlights work the ignition switch should too.

Reconnect the ampmeter loop and there should be nothing stopping it. Try reseating the connection, they are old. Did you disconnect the battery when working on electrical?

No power at all, or just no start? Lights still work? Wipers? Try to determine if it is a global issue (main power feed) or a local issue (neutral start switch/start wire).
