I like the way you think Ken! Inch by inch, step by step. I am hoping to make it to hi with an o on each end this summer. Fingers crossed and cautiously optimistic.....

Got the trans cooler and lines connected today. Oh, and I put the 'when it's done' tires on the front a few days ago because, well, just because. 20220309_171819.jpg 20220309_171832.jpg 20220309_171900.jpg 20220307_174346.jpg 20220309_171919.jpg

Spent some time today finagling with the Mustang hydroboost. I hope to get to the "yeah, it all fits together" point and then circle back to the body (which is fairly close) and put some color on 'er.

Thanks Jeff, I've been havin' a ball! A few minor potholes along the way of course. One little whine is the stuff done "good enough for now" that I've had to come back to re-do or finish finally. The current conundrum - My wife's birthday is in 10 days and she asked for a ride in the Bronco as her present. Hmmmm..... I wonder if a ride in the Bronco on the trailer would suffice.

Big double yuppers on the exciting, Ken, although "close" is a relative term. Have to take some time off today to fix a sticky caliper on the 150, darnnit. Still havin' a ball though!

Also fabricated a bracket to adapt an F150 tilt steering column to the Bronco. The article in the Tech section was a big help.

And I got a good start on running brake lines from the MC to the proportioning valve.

I'm thinking about taking up fishing because so many of my Bronco mods seem to open up a can of worms. Got the 4x4x2 steering gearbox upgrade. Turns out the rag joint encroaches into the inner fender wheel well. "No problem" I think, because I've got a pretty substantial pile of stuff waiting to be turned into something else, including a piece from an office cabinet. A cut here and a booger weld there and I'll be good to go, sez I. Using the S.W.A.G. Method (Scientific Wild Ass Guess). I calculate the area where the fender will be offended and remove said offended area. All good, except for my S.W.A.G. Method. Seems it could use some recalibrating. Well good, just cut a skosh larger hole and conjure up a smidgen bigger cover and continue trudging the road to happy Bronco destiny.

Nice Howard. Your recent S.W.A.G. project just answered a question rattling around in my head. I’m not a fan of the look of the driver side engine bay wheel tub in my 76. I was wondering what it would take to install an early non power steering tub. Now I see, thanks for the post.

Gnsteam, glad it helped, and thanks for the kind words. Moved things a smidgen further down the road toward Done, if there even is such a place. Bigger hole and bigger cover plate. Gonna wait until a few more body/chassis projects have been addressed and when I take the body off again for body work and paint (gosh, I hope so..) I'll clean up the hole edges and weld the cover to the inner fender.

NOTE TO SELF and anyone else inclined to cut and toss: When I do some of this stuff, I am not always sure of where I am going to end up. Case in point - The 1987 F150 column I am using had cruise control, blinkers, shift lever, hazard lights, yada, yada, yada, all in the column. I figured I would only be using the blinker wires and the horn wires, so I considered cutting whatever wires would be extraneous, but stopped myself. I am now going to use the hazard light switch (wires I would have cut) for the high beam/low beam switch to eliminate the Bronco floor button. Glad I did NOT cut and toss.
