defrosting/defogging rear windows?

someone told me about this years ago and ive used it many times...nothing more aggravating than driving over a bridge and windshield fogs over lol

simple and cheap as heck...take the can of Barbasol smear it on glass. i use a paper towel to smear it. then wipe it off with more paper towels...it takes a bit to get it completely dry again and clear....but it works!!!!! do try other shaving creams...use Barbasol!!!

That falls under the soap/shampoo trick.

Not sure how much fab you want to do but when I was grabbing seat belts from a new Dodge minivan with rear air and heat. The rear heat module was a stand alone set up with only water and a/c lines coming plus the electrical. The duct work looks easy to re-use also. The whole unit was shaped around the wheel well too so it fit nice and tight against the cab wall.

Saw one of these in wrecking yard and was thinking same thing but they wanted $75 for it still looking for one cheaper to see about modifying.

I like the 12 volt idea for a half cab don't really have much of a problem with my windshield

If you had A/C it would defrost much better just like on newer cars. Would need to duct one of back side of the a/c vents into the defroster duct, close the a/c vents that blow into cab or leave one open facing to the rear area. Turn heat on full blast and a/c on low/mid. All new cars even if you shut off the a/c button while on defrost its still runs the a/c compresser. lol

Have you considered just doing the chevy blower motor upgrade? That really puts out a lot more heat and air than the stock heater motor.
