EFI fuel filter ?s

I'm thinking of using the stock high pressure fuel filter that comes factory on early 90's Bronco's/F-250's with the 302/351's. It looks like some special type of fasteners that Ford used for them with a nylon fuel line. I don't think they are the spring-lock fasteners like what's on the fuel rail.
I'll be using 5/16" EFI rubber line with an inline high pressure pump and want to know if the fuel injection hose clamps would hold the line on the filter.
Sorry, I don't have any pics., the fuel filter has no barb's on the inlet/outlet, that's why I'm a little worried if the efi hose clamps would be safe. I'd like to place the filter after the one high pressure pump rather on the suction side. Is that good or bad ?? My thinking is that the high pressure pumps don't have much suction pressure and a filter half dirty could starve the pump ???
What is everybody else using for a filter besides the accumulator/filter set-up's???

Thanks !!!!!

not sure about the clamps mine has barbs on it. but you do need a filter before the pump it will save your pump in the long run. i run one before and one after

Thanks Skiddy !!!

I've been trying to find a filter like that with barbs, but walking into the parts store without a the year, model etc., they just aren't much help.

Do you have a part #, or know what vehicle the filter was/is made for ???

And I do have a filter for the low pressure suction side of the pump to install (which I will).

Thanks again !!!!

Just ask the parts guy for the EFI fuel line repair tray. It should have fittings for everything. Early Ford EFIs ('84-89 trucks) use plastic "hairpin" fittings, which have 4 slots around the lip for the hairpin. The short-nipple filter usually comes with new hairpins.

.

You can use the long-nipple filter ('90-96), but it's built for the later stainless bail fittings, which are more of a PITA, but stronger & safer.
