Anyone know the WMS to WMS on a EB D44?

Will the yoke on the 76 D44 pinion connect to the 68 front driveshaft or will I need to use the 68 D30 yoke? Will it fit?

I am using 73 knuckles on the 76 housing so I assume that the 73 tie rod will work with my setup. I have the F-100 power steering box.

Also I have a set of 31 spline moser 9" axles. Will small bearings fit on them? Can I put them in my small bearing housing? I still have a 28 spline 3rd member and was thinking of going to a 31 spline. Is there a differance between axle lengths between big bearing housing and 31 spline 3rd's.

That's all for now;D

I believe the yokes are different and not interchangable. The length is the bigger issue. The stock shaft will probably be too long.

If you are running '73 knuckles, '73 steering is the correct style to use.

You need to measure the diameter of the axle shaft and get a bearing that fits. typically you will need a conversion bearing to use 31 spline axles in a small bearing housing, if I remember right.

Length of both the 28 and the 31 spline axles should be the same.

are you saying that the pinion housing on the D44 is shorter then the D30? I have a 3.5" susp lift now and I don't have any problems with driveshaft length.

did you swap your D30 for the D44 and the driveshafts fit with ease with the 3.5" lift?

What I am saying is the opposite. The 44 is bigger, the driveshaft will probably be too long.

I think that I couldn't use the yoke off the 30 when I went to a 44 because the pinion spline is different or something like that.

I will be doing the swap in a week or two. I was thinking that since I have a 3.5" susp lift that I wouldn't have any driveshaft problems. I am not sure if the axle I am getting has a yoke or not.

I threw a 72 44 under our 66. the d-shaft fit fine on the yoke. The 44 case is a little larger. If I rememer right the difference in driveshaft length was less than an inch.
