Front Suspension on a Stroppe Baja Bronco

Does anyone know if Stroppe shortened the springs in the front suspension of the Baja Bronco? I noticed mine were mounted differently than most old Broncos I have had and they were cut shorter by about 2".
Thank you!

At the time I would suspect stroppe of using 1978 Bronco coils for their higher rating and cutting them to desired length.

it was common back in the day to order F-150 coils with the spring rate for a big block (360/390ci) motor, this gave a 1.5-2 lift, but was also a lot stiffer. Some cut the springs so they had the same height, but stiffer springs

Stropp springs stiff?? That’s an understatement right there. I’m just gonna say that I ran over a fan belt n the street in a Stroppe special and it bounced me in the seat. Turned around and went back to see what I’d hit, fully expecting to see a dead dog laying there. Nope, only the fan belt. Stiffest suspension I’ve ever driven.

I don’t believe that Stroppe changed the front springs. Most of them were ordered from Ford with the U152 Heavy Duty springs with a 4900# GVW rating making them ride a little stiff…
Interested to see how they were mounted differently, that doesn’t sound like a Baja Bronco option either.
