No problem.
3.50 and 3.54 were a factory combo.

What are you doing that has 3.55 gears? That is not a common ratio for normal Bronco axles.

Well long story... I have a 77 high pinion with disk brakes I was going to cut down but have decided to try the full width axles. The D44 is a 603782-1 Standard 3.50 Gear. I found a 1979 9" which the guy says has a 3.56 ratio. I'm trying to get the numbers off of it before I drive 3 hours to get it. I'm thinking it should be a 3.50 gear set and maybe the guy doesn't know what hes talking about.

Yeah, never heard of a 3.56. But hey, that does not mean they don't exist. I've seen plenty of gear ratios that were available from the factory for only one or two years, then were replaced by a different ratio a couple of numbers off. Or not at all.
Like down in the low 3's for 2wd trucks. A few odd ratios, so maybe there was a 3.56 after all.

But if you were building it up, you'd probably end up with a different ratio. Maybe he meant 4.56 instead? That's a very common ratio.
That or he just got his numbers skewed a bit from talking ratios too long!

Or he can't read his own handwriting and can't tell the difference between a 6 and a 0.

Well I’m glad I didn’t drive 3 hours to go get it. Hers a picture of the tag. 2.75 gears. He was looking at the factory codes thinking it was the gear ratio.
