Where is this used in a pair?

I have also seen some with an integral external toothed washer (Keps nut) used in this application as well.

Good guesses, but that is not the app for the one I took a pic of, but I will give a hint and say these nuts are under the hood, and not inside or under the Bronco.

Sorry to interrupt.. but this would be a good thread for this one..

Being as this was my first frame off and pretty much touched every nut and bolt on my bronco i do have a couple parts left over..

I thought this would be part of the tire carrier or license plate stuff on the tailgate but it wasn't.. now I have no idea where it goes.. but it must have been important enough to get painted ;)

iam sure it will be a duh moment as soon as someone says something but what is it and where does it go?

is this the reflector mount for the driver side/tire carrier?

No

No

Rear reflector mount bracket that goes below the right tail light on the lower hinge of the tire carrier.

No

Since we sold our 77 Ranger, the other two stockers do not have this part, so here are a few pics of one on a parts truck I have stashed out back in the woods.

The bracket is satin black from the factory.
