below the framerails and does it get caught on any thing? i'm used to full size frames which are substantially taller, hence the case barely protrudes below the frame.

Mine hangs an inch or so below the frame. It was higher but I wanted to reduce the rear driveline angle.

Now worries, mine is still going to be a custom application with the 400, narrow frame rails, and the possibly un-narrowed, but super high pinion mogs, was just wondering if most hang them down or not. I may have to clock my rediculously low, with the front diff being so high up. I may not even be able to move it over towards the drivers side like I did with my 79. I've thought of even hacking up the frame from the front of the engine forward and moving it upward and outward. Won't be a big deal since the inner fenders and rad support are already gone. I'm getting closer to a buggie every day........ ;D

I run a 2" body lift and I still have 3" of clearance to the body to T-case.
The 435 is 1" to touching. Its high enough for the side mount to be above the frame rail.

Jim, Judi I just looked under mine...finally...and took some measurements. First, the x-member is mde of 2.5" OD square tubing..which the factory 78/79tranny mount fits over perfectly. The top surface of the 2.5" x-member is dead even with the bottom surface of the frame. That puts the arse end, lowest hanging part, of my 205 case about 3.5" below the bottom surface of the frame.

Were I to do it again..I would have raised the x-member about an inch ..the motor would fit better, and my front driveline angle needs lessened..the rear is fine and could stand some more.

In the stock clocked position my NP206 does not hand any further down than the D20. I re-installed my stock skid plate and I can still get my fingers between it and the skid plate.

I clocked my 205 up a couple of inches so it doesn't hang down below the frame rails at all. I have a 2 inch body lift and had to notch my drivers side floor pan a little.

I'm sure you have seen those 1000 times before. Sorry for posting them again, but pictures are always easier to understand than my typing. :p

Hey!! Your At Work Mr. Wantitall!!!! Must have slowed down since I left...

Yeah it slowed down a bit. Sorry about our lunch plans getting all screwed up. Normally I wouldn't have to cover the floor like that, but with two guys out today it left me short handed. Next time we'll have more time to talk Bronco. ;D

I will most likely have mine in the stock location or lower, but damn if that does not look low. I may have to make some kind of skid plates for skidding over the belly.

Thanks for all the replies/pics............

Crawlin, what kind of CV joint is that. I have the standard 1330 Spicer CV and can not get enough droup out it with my 205 in stock clocking.

It's an Italian made 1410 series CV joint that will go to 42 degrees. I got it from High Angle Driveline. That is the only down side to clocking your t-case up. The more you clock it, the worse you make your front driveline angle.

I know it's all at a cost, do you mind sharing how much? Mine might hang below my radius arm mounts 1/2", probably not worth trying to gain that back. I'm at the max with my 1330 now.
