Man cant belive no wimblton white with black stripes like my Moms was! If my parents ever come acrossed it theyd by it in a heart beat! They bought when it was only 2years old and sold it in 81 for the bigger 1979 bronco Ranger XLT. They hated it!

Were the stripes bright white or more of a Wimbledon white? I'm thinking these stripes would look super cool on my seafoam green '71.

The stripes on mine were a bright white not Wimbleton white.

Im conviced that an all white one with black sripes is pretty rare! Cant find any pics of one anyware! Except for some old polaroids i have that suck!

I have a few pictures of a white one on my IPad. I'll see what I can do to get them posted. I think I got them on CB.com's gallery photos.

I'm really surprised that so few Special Decors have been posted. Makes me wonder how rare this option was.

In fact, this thread helped me finalize a decision.

I recently installed a new to me white top which is in pristine condition and the color matches my stripe and flares perfectly.

But it just doesn't look right to me with the white top so I am going to return my bronco to full Special Decor glory by painting it to match the body.

Rox, I think that's a great idea. I saw those pictures of your top and I think the blue does look better.

Incidentally, does anyone know if one of the vendors makes the chrome rocker panel trim pieces? I've seen a few pictures of them now and they look pretty sharp!!

Naw I don't believe they do..they pop up on the classifieds from time to time,but beware the are pricey.

Info and Pics from a '76 Ford light trucks FACTS book

I have attached some pics of the "Special Decor" page from my '76 truck facts book which was dealer material to help in the sales and ordering of optioned '76 light trucks. This book includes F series to 350, Econoline,Club Wagon, Ranchero, Bronco, and Recreational Vehicles..(a section on each).

The Special Decor Group was "available with base and Sport Bronco models only." (The first line in the Special Decor Description). Contrary to a previous post...

The tape stripes were available in white, black , and yellow!! The yellow stripe was available only in the Raven Black, Wimbleton White, and the Cayan Red colors. Also it states that rocker panel mouldings were available with this option.

So...picture this.....Raven Black with yellow stripes, rocker panel moulding Special Decor.....

Enjoy...... and be Bronco educated!!!!

Wow thats really cool stuff yellow stripes would have to be rare indeed! Also i was looking in my 66bronco sales brouchoure and it say racing stripes were available!

When i think of the red with yellow stripes it make me think Ketchup and mustard! LOL

I have never seen one with yellow strips but after 35 years they may be white to.
