I feel like price is something the owner shares if they want to.

Congrats! Love the look and originality. There was a guy at super cel this year with maybe 370,000 on the clock under his watch.

Two of the cooler things that came with it:

First picture is a couple of work orders and original Wild Horses business cards from about 24 years ago.

Second is a set of custom floor mats. Dave was the original owner's name, and you may find the deer odd since it's a Bronco. However, if you read all of the posts, you'll see that Dave was a deer hunter. So, the combo for the floor mats is pretty cool.

I asked Dave if he wanted to keep them, but he said no, they should stay with the Bronco. Just one more little thing that makes the history of it so cool.

Perfect ending to a great story. It makes me wonder just how many original owners there are out there that still have them. Probably the earlier the year, the fewer you will find.

Looks like you got a great Bronco with a cool back story and made a friend to boot! Very nice score, now work on getting that thing up to 500K and you're really have a tale to tell.

What is the headliner and how is it installed?

The headliner is one of my favorite things about the Bronco. One of the few changes the original owner made from stock. When he had the upholstery re-done, he was looking for something nicer than the stock cardboard headliner. His upholstery guy told him he'd take care of it and if it turned out he didn't like it, he'd remove it and not charge him. He liked it a lot more than the stock one, and I agree. It's a fabric of some kind, and while I don't know for sure, I'd assume it's attached to the roof with a fairly standard spray on headliner adhesive.

That has more appeal to me than a frame off resto. I'll take the older paint, pitted chrome and all over one that's loaded with poor quality repops that will look worse and not work in short time.
I think I would have to just sit in it and stare at that dash and think of all the stories it could tell in it's 400k miles.
Congrats on the score.
A little detail on the white hubs and lugnuts and your done. Are those stockton wheels?

Drove it to a work meeting this morning since I still haven't had a chance to rearrange vehicles and get this into the garage. Ran a little hot (around 200) in the 100 degree weather we had today, and got a couple of people to stop and comment about it. Quite the attention getter.

Congrats on the purchase, really looks good. I like the way he added just the right amount of updates yet not too much.

Moved stuff around and got it into the garage. Maybe it will put the Mustang back together for me while I'm sleeping

This is my dream. To find a CA blue plate car, personalized COOL plates, from the first owner, semi-unmolested, and in that exact color scheme.

when did he personalize the plates? shouldn't this year have black plates?
