Ahh! I understand that tricking the computer electronically with the switch would be pretty sweet setup to have but I think that it is gonna be more trouble and to some degree unreliable.

I think in terms of off roading that the KISS principle is the best one to go with in this case. I would try to find one of the original hand throttle setup's that these trucks came with from the factory! I have the whole setup somewhere buried and I think that it would be just what the doctor ordered! ;D Super simple and adjustable! Trust me, I like the techy things that we do to the trucks the most. But this mod I would keep mechanical and forget about messing with the computer. My .02!

My Bronco came with the factory dash mounted hand throttle. I've installed a cable operated throttle on my shifter, connected to the gas pedal assy, for easy access as I need it. It really doesn't work the way I want it to. Yes, I could try a bike hand-brake assy, but all I want is a bump up to 900-1000 rpm for a short time. a shifter mounted push button seems the easiest answer.

I have done this on a different application for a different reason but it would do the job here.

Take a three port fuel tank switching solenoid valve run the out port to the manifold and the normally closed port to the air intake pipe after the mass air but before the tbody. Have a monetary switch to operate the solenoid to connect the two ports thus creating basically a vacuum leak. The valve I use is a solenoid type so it always goes back to one side when not energized. The inlet port which is normally open needs to be plugged. In line of one of the hoses you may need an orifice to set your desired RPM. This is only a one speed deal though.
