I'm using Rust bullet, I have used por15 in the past and it lasts very well, in fact I painted the chassis on my plow truck with it 10 yrs ago and it still looks great, but, I don't like the fact that if you ever want to do some touch-up I have noticed that the por15 doesn't like to stick on itself and neither does any other paint, and then it blows off with the pressure washer. I've been using the rust bullet for some time now and it is basically the same thing but doesn't have those bad characteristics about it. You can put any paint you want overtop of it and it sticks, and it is NOT uv sensitive. Really a better product IMO.

I,m still painting and wishing I had the room to be spraying it and I am looking for a set of c-caps from a full size bronco that have the front shock mount. That will get all my stuff painted and ready for assembly. Anyone know where I can get a set?

Hey Pat; Just finished viewing your gallery. Very much impressed with all your work. All the pictures give me even more appreciation of your work; even after seeing it in person. I know alot about the frustration that occurs during a build; perseverance is the key.
Took the "68" to Sandy Hook yesterday to do some surf fishing. Great weather; flat ocean; NO FISH. Stay in touch TIM. PS , keep up the GOOD WORK!

Well as soon as I got the chance today I got working on fabbing those rear shock mounts. Since I don't have the equipment for this sort of thing, I went to a buddies shop where I gathered up some 3/16 and 1/4" plate and cut and bent what I thought I might need and took some extra. While there I had him put a few 90 degree bends on some short pieces of 1-1/4" dom tubing and then got about 8 more feet off him before heading back to my shop. I got all the stuff I need plus some, all for 20 bucks and now I owe him beer again%) Anyway back at my place I made a pattern of those mounts, the best I could without them right in front of me, and traced onto some u channel that I bent earlier, and cut them out with a torch. I am almost embarrassed to show that because I must have had to much mountain dew and I wasn't very steady with the torch, but the pics are there. After they cooled I got busy grinding them and that is about all I got finished. Doesn't seem like much but with having to travel and get materials and the average BS, thats all I had time for. While getting this piece of the puzzle looking decent I started to think about how I was copying someone elses Idea and I don't think I am going to build them exactly how cage did, however they are probably going to resemble them. There are a couple of pics there showing what my stock shock mounts look like before I cut them off.

That is freaking awesome dude!!! What do you mean "doesnt seem like much" Thats a lot of work for a day! Others would have click the mouse, bust out the credit card and wait a week to have it delivered. Fabrication skills are a good thing to have. During my build have specific things in mind but cant do it cause Im lacking your skills!! Keep up the work brother!!
