Thanks NY, here are pics of the other side matching and then the 2 together, its midnight and I'm just getting in from finishing tacking everything together. I am out of argon, so I'll have to get some in the morning and then burn these baby's together and then weld them to the frame.:):):)

I really like that the hoops come up farther back than the commercially available rear hoops. I never was a fan of the large triangles going in front of the back seat. By the look of things yours will work out very nicely!!

Today in the time I had to work on the bronco, I took it all back apart in preparation of removing the frame out from under it so that I can weld all 4 shock hoops onto it and weld the v8 engine mounts in before painting the frame. This should make it alot lighter to lift off. I made some bolt on braces for the door openings for when it gets lifted off. This will be the first time that this tub gets lifted off in one piece. I also drilled the hole in the 9" rear houing for a drain bung that I got from Currie Ent. Just as I finished getting it drilled, my wife came and gathered me up and said, Thats it with the Bronco for the day, now its My turn. You can't argue with that.;D

OOOOOOKay, well today that little bit of grinding I had to do here and there, turned into an all day project and then when I did get it finished up< I cut out some sheetmetal to build some boxes around those rear shock mounts. I got them welded in and now have some more grinding to do. %) Tomorrow I'll do some trimming on the underside and grind it up a little and then its ready to give it a quicky sandblasting and get some rust bullet on the tub. ?:?Didn't I say that before?%)%)

Those are some nice mounts. Makes me a little ashamed of the modified stock ones I built. They should work great.

Thank you, I was going to just do what you did to make it quicker and get done with this thing but something in the back of my mind said to slow down and do the things you want to do no matter how much longer it takes. For me, rust repair work is fun because I enjoy all the fabrication, and after that being said, Today I hit 1000 hrs:eek::eek: working on this bronco in some related way, so I,m not even sure its worth it. Of coarse ya get more done I think if you have 10hrs at a time to spend on it, But that doesn't mean that that you can't end up spending the whole 10hrs doing one thing that for some reason a thought it would only take an hr or 2. Here are some pics of those shock boxes all done. Next stop body off to do the frame.

did you finish those up with a flap disk? they look purty

Yes flap wheel. Ya know I have been doing all this grinding with a hard stone type wheel and never ever used a flap wheel in my life, figured they were junk. Well couple of days ago I bought a 4-1/2" 80grit flap disc for my grinder and man what a difference:), I'm never going back to a hard wheel those flap discs are so fast that you can't even compare them.;D

Now that it is looking like a Bronco again has your son regained any interest in helping work on it?

i was doing the same thing and my brother mentioned using flap wheels. i figured since he was an iron worker he knew what he was talking about so picked one up. i love those things. i just wish they lasted a bit longer.

Are you done yet? ;D

Nope, now I'm wanting to fab a tork fork or wrap trap, I'm going to have to tap into pastminer's build for that one.;D There is a pile of little stuff that goes unseen when doing this stuff, like for instance, yesterday I figured I would check the fit of the gas filler tube and the fsb power steering box, and whadaya know they need work to fit correctly. Steering box I had to make the clearance box on the core support 1" taller and the filler tube seams like a poorly designed aftermarket and would not fit right no matter what I did so I ended up going outside and taking one off the 76 I have for parts and it fit great. Now I have to clean it up and paint, I already did that on the one that doesn't fit. Back to that steering box, the bolt pattern on those is different by a small amount so rather than make a plate to mount it, I opted to weld 2 of the holes shut on the box and redrill them to the early bronco hole pattern.
