need help and advice on fuel system

i have a virtual rust free 70 wagon. i am getting ready to move to the rockies in colorado so i am trying to get as nuch as i can done now. i dropped the aux tank so i could clean behind it and por it.i found almost no rust. but now i need new straps and skidplate. also does anyone know how to get the front of the old tank straps out? i ended up just cutting them off for now. any help would be great......thanks

If a 70 is like a 73 & 74 there's a bracket in front of the tank (2 bolts) drop it and the straps have a "T" head that fits into a slot on the body brace. Put the new ones in and replace the bracket then the tank. Did my 74 - 3 weeks ago. Hope they're the same. Good Luck;D

BTW I had to buy a new bracket, straps, J-hooks and skid plate, got'em from JBG.
