Need help with a brake conversion

I have done a couple of searches for brake issues after installing a TOMS Chevy front disc brake conversion with a TOM’s booster, proportioning valve, new rear brakes and hardware, all new stainless steel brake lines and have not been successful in finding out why I can’t seem to get good braking power. I bench bleed the master, and bleed a gallon of fluid through the system. The master cylinder is correct the large reservoir in gong to the front, the smaller to the rear. I have ground for good clearance on the front calipers, bleeders are facing up. I have good vacuum to the booster, running 35’s. The braking is sketchy. I have read several posts that agree this is a good system and TOMS has been very good to me, but in a panic situation I am not comfortable. Anyone had a similar issue?

Is the pedal firm?
Soft at first?
Can it be pumped to improve braking?

A hard fast stop with 35's may concern you, but regular driving should be very confident feeling.

Pedal feels good, pumping doesn't make a difference. I difinitely can't get the brakes to lock up either. When I apply the brakes the peel does travel to a point then gets hard and won't travel further even when I stand on the pedal. I think this setup even with 35's should stop better.
Really at a loss.

Check push rod between MC and booster adjust it longer but not too long . Also be sure rear drums are adjusted right

Maybe your booster is bad or has a vacuum leak... When I used to have a booster my rubber grommet went bad a few times and would leak air. I installed an Astro Hydro boost and it stops on a dime now. I also have a Chevy disc conversion kit on the front with drums on the rear

I know a guy who had the same issues. Bled it multiple times , screwed with the booster - etc. Turned out to be some type of problem with the rod binding or hitting something or too long or ? - like others have said ; that's the direction i'd look.
