I have a 1974 Bronco 302 three speed I have been looking to swap out to a 4 speed. I just found a 1977 f150 xlt 460 4X4 with a four speed manual rolled over but still runs and drives. Can I swap the transmission with a 302? Will the F150 have front disc brakes that will work with my drums?

Thank You for the help

Don't think so on the tranny. It's an Np435 I'm guessing, with an np205 behind it. I think you could bolt the whole package to your 3-speed bellhousing but the 4x4 np435 won't bolt to the Dana 20.

The brake parts should work. Make sure it's a 5-lug 44, some of those were 8-lug. Either way, the knuckles and brake brackets should work.

-Edit- The big block 435 may not work with the small block bellhousing according to this tech article.

You can use the trans with your bellhousing, you would just have to install a new tailshaft for it to work with the D-20 adapters.

Yeah, I may have been unclear on that. The 435 will physically bolt to the D20 with the right adapter but the spline counts are different. A 2wd with a 28 spline output should bolt right up.
