With ford sponsoring super celebreation this year. Is there any truth to the rumor that ford is bringing new bronco prototypes and pieces
to the event???

Well that would be interesting and probably draw quite a few more people

Latest rumor over on the Bronco forum is that the “hybrid” Bronco will be getting the Lincoln Aviator’s system.

494 horsepower and 18 miles electric only range ain’t too shabby.

There has been some chatter about that.

The spy Bronco photos in the camo is obviously the new 'baby' Bronco or Bronco Sport. Its not the Bronco that enthusiast like us is going to be excited about. It's been stated all along that it would be the first Bronco introduced.

Keep up the faith crowd, don't discredit Ford yet!

I believe the latest camo spy shots are the “real” Bronco. Ford keeps flip-flopping on which they will introduce first. Last I heard it was going to be the Bronco, not the Sport.

A 2-door short wheel base jeep (or Bronco) may excel at parking in tight lots, but believe me, a 4-door jeep with it’s longer wheel base will out wheel a 2-door in almost all situations. Most jeeps by far that you see modified and on the trails are 4-doors. Black Bear Pass is about the only trail where I’d prefer a 2 door and that’s only when on the switch backs.
I won't argue about trail running...

However as a daily driver, one is bound to encounter more parking lots than mountain passes.

I don't need a "Rubicon" version with a rusted unused winch, angry bird eyes, unused hi-lift and dangling shackles. Let the owner and aftermarket deal with that. Just give us a BRONCO!! This should mean 2-door, removable top, amongst other things (psst, a naturally aspirated V8...), I know I went too far.

You're not wrong but one caveat is that on bumpy expansion joints (I'm looking at you 110 freeway!) a longer wheelbase will make for a better daily driver.

Most of the (J)Heeps I see in Los Angeles have every single option and accessory and not a spec of dirt, a scratch, or even useful mods for actual off-roading. New Bronco(s) will be no different and I bet Ford doesn't care one bit.

As far as I'm concerned, the further from the original formula they make the new offerings, the better our old versions look and thus increase in value.

One thing about Jeep that the market is going to need to supply, and thats the amount of aftermarket bolt on bling, suspensions, tires, rims, bumpers lights etc. That what makes another selling point of jeep, buy a cheap one and you can throw on literally $30,000 in parts overnight, and they fit!

I am sure the aftermarket is just waiting to get its hands on the new bronco. There will be tons of stuff just like the Jeeps, yeah it may take a little while but it will happen. Heck look at all the parts suppliers and new parts options for our 50 year old broncos! I am sure those same vendors will end up offering parts for the new ones just like a lot of them added parts for the second and third gen broncos a few years back. And yes 90 percent of the new broncos will never see dirt and will have tons of bolt on crap that the owner never use, and most will be mall crawlers but who cares! As long as Ford make a solid truck that has mild capabilities out of the box and let the aftermarket and SVT do the rest! I am sure there will be a Raptor type version of the bronco added with in a year of launch. Like others have said lets take a step back and see what this thing is really like. Oh and don't take me wrong I am sick of waiting too! But what a few more months at this point!

Yea, yea, I know we are just jawing.
I just love shorter wheel based vehicles - I have been sick a long time --- Broncos, Jeeps, Samurai, Defender, Nivas - all short with 2 doors! There are plenty of long base vehicles choices and few short base choices. Let the Bronco be a Bronco. :-*

You may be right Gary. The camo wraps really mess up the relationships, but it does look larger than the baby one...;D;D;D

I also think those Michigan in the snow shots are the real deal.

Looks a touch bigger than the Ranger which I was praying for, just a touch smaller than an f150. Not shots good enough to see front suspension which is not a deal breaker for me.

Being able to drill on the highway up a hill to 7000 feet without screaming in 3rd gear at 4000 rpm is. Hint hint jeep...

And I'm sorry, but my 2 door Heep is the right size, and making a parking space located anywhere is a feature.:)

This thread is full of so much rage for a vehicle that doesn’t even exist yet.

Everyone take a deep breath, step away from the computer for 3 months. If you don’t like what they release I’m sure you can go register at classic4runners.com

Ford will never be able to make a vehicle as reliable as a 4runner and that’s not even considering how well the runners and FJcruisers hold their value
Ford can’t even build an car that the spark plugs won’t spit out or snap off
Or stretch the timing chains and blow the engine

I’ve owned two 4 runners and put 300k + on em with zero repairs.

The body on frame V-8 4runner with the electric locker is by far the best Mid size SUV ever made.

That said , I love my EB, but a rebadged Escape is just going to be so sad with the Bronco nameplate on it .

And now we keep hearing they are going to make TWO totally different vehicles with the same name ?

GM tried that with the K5 Blazer, the S-10 Blazer and the Trailblazer

The K-5s were sturdy and reliable and famous name recognition so they watered that down with other vehicles with the same name that were unreliable underpowered crapmobiles

Making several vehicles with the same name at the same time is dumb and confusing and won’t work.

Guys, it’s heavily camo’d to disguise the true shape. Don’t judge these pics. Good news is the new Bronco is at the endurance road testing stage. We’re getting closer!

Hope they test it better than they did the 6.0

Or the cruise control switches that are STILL causing fords to catch on fire

I'm with you man, but remember , don't buy the first year diesel jeep.

Buying any new vehicle in the first two model years is a very big risk. But people do it all the time. I guess the Same people that borrow money to buy new and used vehicles, cause that’s really dumb too.

I pay cash for used vehicles at auctions. Sometimes it’s vehicles that got repossessed from people who foolishly financed a vehicle that will lose half its value every 24 months.

Plus the stealership always over prices them for the first customers who have to have the newest vehicle
Adding thousands to the already laughable MSRP
Stealerships around me constantly advertise $10k off MSRP on F-150s so the sticker price is just pulled out of a hat and has no relationship at all to the actual cost or value of the vehicle . The MSRP is a joke and is set at whatever they think some fools will actually pay for it.

Dang, there is a lot of negativity about the new bronco on this site!

I for one am excited for the new bronco. If it has a retro look that resembles the classic we love and can get off the pavement, what's not to like?

I'm a ford fan and have found their trucks to be pretty reliable. My last 2013 Ecoboost had 130k on it and I had only one minor sensor problem in the time I owned it.

Seems like many won't be happy unless they build an exact model of the 66-77's, but with Dana 60's, 35" tires, 500hp V8, 6 speed manual, etc.

Give it a chance, let's see what it looks like before we crucify Ford
