Been lurking around for awhile, figured I should introduce myself and what I'm working.
I have a few 65-66 Mustang builds under my belt and my new fiancée wanted a early bronco. So being on a Police officer salary and paying for wedding stuff I have a limited budget. I knew I was going to have to piece it together. I started with just a bare frame from a 71. had some rot but nothing I couldn't fix for $600.

frame was blasted and I painted with chasse saver
I'm reusing the stock suspension right now just to make it a roller.
I found a set of 1976 F100 full width axles moved the spring perches to get them mounted, work on steering later.

That kept me busy from march to may.
While I was doing that I was able to track down a c4 and j20 combo a few hours away from me that will work best since she cant drive a stick.
In July I was able to track down the 66, not really the year I wanted didn't want to deal with the limited parts for the 66-67. but the price was right.
I had sat in the woods of Tennessee for 15-20 years I was told. the floor pans are gone but the rockers, door jams, firewall, and the crossmembers under the pans were solid. frame is in good shape and it also came with trans and transfer case, that will probably be up for sale soon.
Its grave we pulled it from

getting ready for the 90 miles back home to Georgia.

so final results should be a teal with white trim vintage look beach buggy but with a small lift, full width axles, and white steel wheels.
I have a 5.0 HO motor to put in it. taking off the factory fuel injection and running fitech injection (have fitech on my 66 mustang with a 302 and love it)
going to be a mall crawler for her but going to make it capable if need be.

Welcome and cool finds! I see that the dash speaker used to have a cover over it, is the 66 a u13 roadster?

Not a u13 and I don’t think the dash has ever been out of it. I was wondering about that as well.
Guess I have had some pretty bad restorations in the past cause I don’t think this is to bad, hope to be done with it in a years time if time and money allows.

Great find! I’ve worked with much worse as well. It all looks manageable to me. Kudos to you for saving it from that grave!

First fitment of the passenger floor pan. have to fab some parts of the tunnel first but looks like a good fit.
Have to give some props to c2cfabrication.com on the floor pan. It dropped right in looks like its going to be a really good fit. its flat on the crossmembers and bends are right on. The price was right and made in America. The driver looks like its going to go right in as well.

Got braces put in but once I got the crossmember under the seats out I realized the body was starting to sag. Had to break out the jacks. It’s amazing how much those small out riggers that connect the rockers to the brace do.

Got the brace off the old pan. It was in really good shape most of the galvanizing still on it. Cleaned and painted the inside didn’t worry about the outside. Going to get the body blasted once I get the pans and bed done.

Also got this corner cut out and repaired. Don’t mind my booger welds their strong and I have a good grinder lol.

The reason I’m working in the driveway garage is full of the tools and my stang and she ain’t sitting outside.

Wedding planning taking priority but got the driver floor pan in yesterday.
Trying to save as much original steel makes for some odd cuts.

Progress made past few weeks. Rotisserie built pans finished and on to the quarters and rockers mock up.
