New Motor Source

So I am really considering a new motor for my wives bronco. I don't have the time to mess with a rebuild again, or pull a junk yard motor. The motor that is in it is I did an over haul on and it has never been right since I did, and I just don't have the time to get into it again. So rebuilding that is out!

I want a good stock type short/Long block, I can take the time to swap over the oil pan, intake, dizzy and front dress. I don't want to mess with any internals. Any suggestions of places to get a good motor for a reasonable price? Summit, Jegs, any others? I don't need 350 hp the truck is just a driver. Seems like short blocks are $1700 to $3000. Any suggestion on what I should pay? I really want to get my wives truck reliable to drive so I can plan and start on a major over haul on my 67. The over haul on my 67 will be a long term thing and could take years so I want a good bronco to drive before I tear it apart. Looking for advice.

There was a post recently in the Tech section where someone mentioned buying one with good results from Autozone?

I'm wanting the same thing for mine. What about a local builder? That's what I'm probably going to do. I just want a rebuild, I'm not stroking it or looking for high HP.

Thanks for the threads. I am not going to rebuild the motor I have or let anyone else rebuild it. I don't trust junk yard motor. Got to do a little more research. Any other input is appreciated!

Finding one around here is not easy and I don't have the time to look for one, pull it out, strip it down , blah blah blah and still have a motor that's at least 20 years old! I want something that isn't going to leak, doesn't have 150,000 miles on it, and has a basic warranty.

So you're looking for a shop to do it all? Go to the Jasper website and search for a authorized installer/garage in your area and have them order you a replacement. They will then need to install it thus you will have the warranty you want.

There are 115 authorized Jasper installers within 25 miles of Zip 20701

I bought a 93 mustang 5.0 from ford remanufacturing from a ford dealer for about $2200, but I had a friend working there.
