Made the mistake of trying to install my NV3550 before Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Advance Adapters isnt open so I thought I'd seek some help here. I've got two questions that are holding me up. First the oil seal that slides over the spline and goes into the new bearing retainer. The diagram has it fully seated into the bearing retainer but I can't get it to fully seat. Am I doing something wrong or is it supposed to rest on the lip? The ceramic portion of the oil seal will not move past the lip and I cant get it to fully seat. Also I cant get the new bearings to fully seat on the spline as the directions show as well. Please can anyone help me?

Are you talking about this assembly??
If so, the seal should seat as shown in the instructions.
You should use a press to install the bearing on the shaft, with out a press, if you have a length of pipe that just slides over the shaft, and does not contact the bearings or the outer race you can gently tap the bearing into place.

Yeah, that's the piece I am talking about. I can't get the bearings to seat fully in the bracket. Do I need a press to get the bearings to fit into the aluminum bracket?

I used a small shop press to install mine... mainly to ensure the bearing seated squarely in the aluminum.
If you're careful and don't get the bearing sideways, you should be able to tap it together without damaging the new bearing retainer and housing.
