Original 302 - timing chain and balancer replacement

Good evening everyone. I have dug and dug and have just decided to throw it out to the experts. I have the original 302 motor that had a lot of slop in the timing chain and leaks up front. I decided to change out the front assembly and do the timing chain while it was all out. I got a bit ahead of my self and ordered the wrong chain. The motor originally had a 2 piece Eccemtric timing chain as I still plan on running the manual fuel pump. I got a 1 piece chain. I’m going to pull the wrong one and put the right one on, but that’s where my questions start.

What 2 piece eccemtric timing chain will work with the factory timing chain cover and belt set up?
The harmonic balancer is cooked. I was looking at the WH. Which balancer will work with the timing chain question above? I’ve read about chains rubbing on the timing cover from the wider chains and then pushing the balancer out a bit more.

Everything else is stock and the engine ran well and didn’t smoke before the tear down.

Thanks!

OK what part # is the chain set you got ,,, and you should mention year of your bronco ,,,, BUT I just looked up what a 73 302 , with 2 piece eccentric and got Cloyes C-3014K as a oe replacment .{silent chain and for a 2 piece eccentric.}...., there are other #'s that would work ,, but do keep in mind that if for some reason you decide to swithc to a 1 piece eccentric then you would need to swap out the pin on the end of the cam.
whats wrong with the damper?.. again ther many to choose from and may leave you wiyh timing marks in the wrong spot.or not.. havent looked but toms or WH have an OE replacment probably . you should call them they can help you..

another option call Damper Dudes there in Anderson Ca. they may have one to send you or they can rebuild your original ...

A oe replacment and most double roller chains should clear the cover no problem,,

It’s a 73 and this is what I purchased. It’s the only one they have from what I found - with a caveat it’s for 1 piece (that I missed seeing)

https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/edelbrock-performer-true-roller-timing-chain-set

Id rather keep it with a 2 piece and just get a chain that works for my set up. I’ve seen edlebrock 7811 mentioned a bit, but also saw people have timing cover issues (that’s been on other forums).

The damper is original and is just in really bad shape. Not against a stock rebuild - WH just looked like a bit of an upgrade. Thought is with it all off might as well change it out.

Disclaimer - This is my first time getting into this area of an engine. I’ve done a bit of other mechanic work, but not this type. Would rather be cautious and ask than get it wrong.
