I have the '66 - '72 "T" handled Dana 20 transfer case. Thought I'd use the search function here to get a color but was unlucky. I didn't see any specific "paint" forum here either altho I seem 2 remember 1 for it & 'drivelines', 'interior', etc on the site. Must B gettin ol.

Can any 1 tell me a red rattle can code # to repaint my Transfer?
I see
Duplicolor
Rustolium

as 2 of the value (Krylon is too inexpensive) oriented companies I'm willing to use AND that are in local stores.

I went thru this (same 2 companies) w/the touch up for the motor ('60s ford lght blue) & all folks could refer me to was the "Ford Corporate Dark Blue" numbers for Duplicolor. Also same paint code # for cans of companies not avail. round here (& still only in the Drk Blue).
Kinda stuck. B great if U had some numbers for 1 of those 2 co.s ;D
Thnx !

Are you looking for historically correct paint color for the same Bronco that you're cutting, welding and mashing axle parts together? If yes press 1....

(1) go buy any old cheap rattle can in a color you like and fog the hell out of it.

If not...

Have it blasted and use a satin clear coat. ;)

when I rebuilt mine I took it down to bare case, sandblasted it, and painted it with satin clear like jluck mentioned above. Keeps the rust away.

Duplicolor cast coat iron would look good on it. It’s what I painted my 8274 with when I rebuilt it.

Any 1 able, ready and willing to name a rattle can # 60s ford lght blue engine color in the 2 co.s above.
I wuz a prts guy @ AutoZone for a half decade...any of theirs - Advance, O'Ryle's, NAPA (the preferred), Home Depot, Lowes, True Value (Ace Hrdw), Walmart...

I found some specialty paint (spray can) at an auto paint specialist but it was off too.

Don't wanna go to pnume spray (PPP or other) as I have such a sm amount to paint (set up, clean the gun, thin, mix'n measure, etc) just went thru that w/the engine bay (primer, paint).

Thank you again. May U have ease, safety'n hi production w/ur own projects!

I used POR15 cast iron grey detail paint. Very nice product. When you spray it you can tell it is not your hardware kind of paint. Ken
