Please help asap with auto shifter

I bought an automatic shifter bushing
That goes on the column to the shofter shaft. How does the clip go in. I cant find anything onli e and i need it done asap. Im rolling out early am to go wheelin

No clip. Just a plastic bushing that the shift rod pushes into. It takes some effort to get it in.

I swear mine had a small C-clip on the back side. I could be wrong though.

If it did someone added it. When brake fluid drops on the bushing for a while it breaks down and doesn't hold the rod well anymore. Then your wife will drive it to the store and in the parking lot the rod will pop out of place, stranding her and putting you in the dog house.

I think if i remember right that i inserted the bushing in the arm on the column and then poped the rod into the bushing.

There's also a c-clamp with socket method that works pretty well. Use a socket bigger than the bushing. Put the socket on the arm and push the bushing through with the c-clamp. Shift rod goes in next, so you are back to the pliers for that one.
