Not a lot of progress over the last few weeks. Do to other distractions. Bruners4 and I, finished hooking up. What we think is the last required wires from the engine bay to under the dash. I also test fitted the dash so we could remind ourselves of the limited space behind it. Dave installed a few switches switches as well.

I cut a hole in the Vintage Air supplied glovebox and installed the Painless fuse box.

I also spent an afternoon in the shop. Machining more parts to my prototype twin sticks cover. I still need a couple more parts before test fitting.

With your sliding shifter cover, is there allowance under the face place to let dust/liquid drain off the end of each slider?
I'd be afraid if they were captured on either end that over time you could accumulate junk that wouldn't allow the thing to slide fully.
I know, garage queens shouldn't get dirty though.

Hello Bronco fans. It has been a couple months, and with very little progress on my Bronco. But that changed today.

Today I officially retired. Working for Square D Company / Schneider Electric, for 48 years. It was a very rewarding career but I'm sure glad it is now in my rear view. And I'm looking forward to the future. So after a few days to adjust to a new daily routine. Progress on the Bronco should really get moving. I would like to have it running and driving by the end of May. Then the goal is to attend SC Buena Vista Colorado and / or, SC Throwback Weekend in Townsend. This should be obtainable. Now that the daily grind is over.:)

Big Congrats on reaching retirement! Now you’ll get to wonder how you ever had time to work 🙃😂
(Or so those who have attained retirement have said - sure hope to find out some day….)

Surprised Mr Brown didn’t tell you to stock up on long sleeve shirts?

Thanks everyone. It still doesn't feel right, not going to the 9-5 everyday. So I will have to fill it with Bronco time. Here we go. Yesterdays progress included. Finishing the install of the wiring harness. To the rear tail lights, side markers and the leed to the license plate lamp. I disassembled and cleaned up the plate lamp. And it is ready for paint. Using the weather striping, suggested by CB member, Slowleak. I installed the upper seal around the lift gate. So much easier to install and better than the glue in type. Sorry no pictures of any of this work.
After we get the Bronco started and drivable. The Bronco will go back to the body shop for paint touch ups and final polishing. So I am leaving the trim items off the body, so the shop doesn't have to remove or work around them. I may even remove the fender flairs. So with this in mind. I worked on fitting the rear body lift, filler panel.

The filler panel was never fitted by the shop, only painted.

So I had to figure out the attachment of the panel. The panel is made to attach to the top of the frame rails. With these #10 slotted holes.

However, I am installing the James Duff/Lick Creek tire carrier. And it mounts to the frame. Utilizing the existence frame hole where the filler panel rests on the frame rail.

So, I had to notch out the filler panel at the two frame hole locations. And you will note that the driver side notch had to be deeper into the panel.

Then using the carriers 1/2" bolts with a good sized washer. You can attach the filler panel and carrier with the same fasteners.

Continuing on at the rear bumper. I went ahead and installed the James Duff/Like Creek tire carrier.

If you have been following along on my build. You may recall, the modifications that made at the tire mounting location. I designed a third break light mount with three 1/2" dowel wheel supports. To aid in supporting the wheel and tire as you guide the wheel onto the wheel lugs.

Here are a couple pictures of how I routed the wiring to the break light. At the hinge I'm going to at a plug of some sort. So that I can remove the swing arm. Without having to pull the wiring out of the stationary hinge.
