It's a constant work in progress to say the least! Lots of more future plans for it but trying to keep it on the trail too between changes. I'd love to get to 108" WB by stretching the front and going full hydro steering... A lot to bite off at once on the wallet!

It's currently under the knife of a DA sander and my garage has an inch of dust in it! Time to shine it up

Did I ever mention that I don't like body work?!

I kept it the same color - just less dents and scratches (for now!). A much shinier finish this time too.

Now I gotta get started on the to-do list for OCBR! ;D

Time to bring this build thread back up. The hydro assist worked well, but after driving several other rigs with full hydro I was sold! This rig has become off road only now with the stickies, so not concerned with road manners anymore. There is a lot of welding, figuring out, and fabricating to do but Keith and I got off to a good start yesterday.

Is it back under the truck yet?

LOL I wish! I did run out of MIG gas so that's my excuse anyway ;D... going to swap tanks today.

Still need to do some fabbing on it while its out - probably this weekend and put it back in the following weekend.

When I run out of Mig Gas on the weekend- I have run to Tractor supply. Not as cheap as the industrial suppliers, but will get you by in a pinch. I do 90% of my work on the weekend...

Mock up everything before final weld! It's a lot of welding for sure! I rotated mine up as high as possible and still kept good angles on the ram.

Thanks for the compliments!!

I didn't get much done on it this weekend - few hours on Saturday night only. The Artec ram mount is welded, axle cleaned, all is primed. I have the tie rods mocked up but I need to tweak a few things before welding it up.

My girl friend got sick for Valentine's weekend so I ended up getting some work done on the Bronco instead. It just needs a little paint and it's ready to slide back under the truck now. Here is how I made the knucke - high steer arm double sheer. I used 1-1/4" x .250 wall (3/4" ID) and braced both upper and lowers. I used all 1/4" for the bracing.

Still to do... fab mount for orbital, re-work steering column, mount pump and reservoir, plumb, fab mount for cooler, and test!

Thanks George! I hope the new home is working out for your family. Give me a call when you come visit the in-laws one day.

Steve - I've also found some kits like you recommended to plate the entire stock knuckle and that will be done as soon as this steering project is done.

The axle is back under the bronco now and no more jack stands.

I replaced the bushings on the cage arms with a set of duff poly bushings. The rubber bushings that came with the arms looked ok from the outside, but when I removed them to inspect there wasn't much left on the inside.

I run the explorer front dress so bought the WH brackets to convert to the PSC p pump. I think I've spent more time on them making them work for my application than if I had made my own, but they are done now and only bracket I still need to fab is the reservoir mount.

Next project is getting the hoses plumbed and fabbing the mount for the orbital valve.
