Still new here. Just bought a '69 that came with a bunch of parts and a bit more stuff I plan on swapping out. There's a couple of threads here on where folks sell stuff, tips on how to post, thoughts on shipping, etc., but for selling parts on here, what's your preferred method of payment, buyers and sellers? Are people using Venmo for these transactions nowadays? Something else? Do you feel safer selling and/or buying on something like eBay?

Post pictures of your item
Know it’s approximate value to ask for
Shipping can vary depending on how large the part is. If it’s got to go on a pallet and freight truck I typically avoid that and will sell that part locally.
Other parts that can be boxed I will use USPS, UPS, FedEx. As for determining cost I will package the part and take it to the store with the potential buyers address and ask for a quote.
Payment I always use PayPal through their goods and services and have the buyer pay the fees.

I’ve bought and sold on this site. Prefer using PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle.
I have personal accounts with UPS and FedEx (I think anyone can get an account for free) and will get estimates through the shipper websites based on package dimensions, weight, and delivery address or area code.

I've been a member here for 23 years. In that time I've sold and shipped probably $60,000 worth of parts. 90%+ of those transactions were handled through paypal. A big part of that of course is that paypal has been around for 20+ years, whereas these newer payment apps haven't. Although I don't sell the amount of parts I once did, paypal is still the preferred payment process on this site by far.

Haven’t sold anything…yet. Bought a few items here. Usually pay via money order. Not really up on electronic type payment methods.

I have sold alot of parts over the years, mostly cash and venmo lately.
I will take a check if it's someone that frequents and participates in the site.

I used to use Paypal but they got screwy a few years back and screwed me over when the buyer had a question on the used part that was sent and Paypal wouldn't release my 1,700 dollars. Eventually, got it straightened out and I will not use Paypal any longer.

I believe Venmo has different rules even though they are owned by Paypal? Got on Venmo as I need to send my daughter money every so often.

I use mostly Venmo nowadays. I don't trust Zelle because there is no buyer protection while with Venmo and Paypal you can use a goods/services selection and have some protection for a small percentage.

I prefer a 3rd party, out-of-state, payroll check that's been signed over twice already and clearly has white-out on it...bonus points if they roll up in a hooptie ride with mismatched tires and not enough room to carry away the item they just purchased without putting it on the roof and securing it with their left hand and some twine that looks like it was scavenged from the side of the road.

Based on some things I have read, I am pretty skeptical of Zelle. There may be legitimate use, but it's the go to for scammers.

I haven't bought or sold anything on here but on Ebay I use paypal.
If a member on here needs a small value item I have, I just send it to them and tell them go to their local animal shelter and bring them a bag of dog/cat food.
That's actually pretty awesome.

I don't sell much anymore, but PayPal has always worked as has a USPS MO.
