Was thinking about it, I would think decreasing the amount of vertical separation of the mounts on the axle would also allow the axle to flex more for a given amount of bind correct?

true. more vertical separation would require more deflection.

Wondering if when people said move the upper links inboard, if that was the cause for more flex or if that reduced the vertical separation as a byproduct. I don't really see what moving the upper inward would do to increase flex.

It has to do with the complex arch that the axle travels on. If the arms are in different positions the axle will move in a different arc. Its slight but enough ro change the geometry. You can also roll the lower link in a little to achieve similar gains. I will take some pics this weekend and post them.

Moving them inboard moves them closer together. The closer together they are, the less they're trying to fight each other.

There is a happy medium 24" is tooooo long 10-12 "

The three sets I've built were all 14" longer than stock. That is a bit more than most but I've had no problems with them. I don't plan to ever build any longer than that....

I just wouldn't move the mounts back any further that the where the front yoke on the transfer case sits.

I have a ZF/Np205 combo, which is longer then stock, and my front output yoke is only about 6" back from the stock mount on the arms.

Also hear people say a negative with Radius arms is that they are always changing your pinion angle, but wouldn't they be perfect for a Double Cardon driveshaft because you want the axle yoke pointed at the Tcase? Especially if your pivot on the frame was close to/in line with the CV on the driveshaft?

Your suspension build is turning out really nice. I’m in the planning stages of going links and tons so this is very interesting. I read all 28 pages of Steve’s build thread on the other site and I’m curious if he ever finished it. The wheeling pics at the end of the thread were very impressive and it didn’t look like his setup hindered flex at all.

He finished it. He had to limit strap it because it was so flexy. Im definitely getting excited.
