Your situation is a little better than mine because you are going to use ORI struts. I plan to use those when I link the rear. Looks real good though.

So coil cup thingy sorted, kinda. I am going to weld some 1/4 plates with studs and use duff coil cups.

I got the unit bearings off and ready to ship to be machined and the shafts pulled.

The seals and stone shield thingy's make it a real bitch to take apart. Those won't be going back on.

I am trying to get the case out of the housing, what a pain!

I have two possibilities coming up weld the spiders and throw it back in with the 4.10's and swap the rear gears to 4.11 or change the front to 4.88.

I'd rather change the front but I want to do a cummins swap in the near future and 4.10 with a 700r4 and doubler would work really nice with 38" rubber.

So many factors into this.

I just realized I have a big problem. I have thought of everything but the front rotors! The rotors I have are the stock 8 on 170 ones and there is NO room to make them 5 on 5.5 Is there a rotor that is 5 on 5.5 that will fit?

Sorry to jack your thread but I just got a 01 dana 60 front and 10.5 rear. Would you say all the work was worth it?

Try a 2005 dodge ram 1500. It's what I use, you just have to bore the center out, well on a wheel bearing Dana 60

So some of you might be wondering what happened to this project, well I am waiting on unit bearings to come back. I sent them off in Feb and every time I call they are waiting on a lathe I move very soon and I am not sure what is going to happen. Suspension is almost done. I will finish it this weekend and start on gears. This is gonna be close because I will need to do something creative to make 5 on 5.5 disk brakes for the front. If anything goes well I will have a roller with no brakes to go on the trailer.

And just like that we are back in business! 5 on 5.5 unit bearings and SD rotors coming to me from Knoxville in the AM! Need some setup bearings and away we go!

Turn down the flange, turn down the hub to clear the rim and drill 5 holes. Daunting task I know, thank god a friend sold me a set that are already done and have matching rotors.
