Got word today that the fabrication for the radiator support is started. Not using a core support for clearence. It will be square tubing. Wanted to post this pic to show the motor sitting down in the frame. I have to level the motor before final tightning of everything.

This past weekend got some things done,
Alt. brackets made and mounted
P/S bracket made and mounted (that was fun with the motor sitting low)
The Rad. support is comming along nice, it looks great.
Now with everything we get done I can see the progress, feels good, ordering the brake lines, and a few other odds and ends for this weekend, I can't wait. The 300 sits in real nice, the 435 is waiting to turn the tires, the twin stick is ready for off road fun, now if I could just win the lotto and take some time off work to do some serious work on this,,,,,,

Today went well, got the P/S and alt. brackets painted and re-installed. Working on a tube core support, almost done, just have to finish the top mounts and paint, might have some pics tommorrow.
Sure is nice to get things done where I can see Progress.
More tommorrow

After a long layoff, because of a layoff, I finally turned a few wrenches this weekend. It seems that some greater power that is not my wife keeps slowing down progress but now to start rolling along again. The last time I was up there in late August the spark plugs wrung off in the head so I pulled the head to remove them, got that all back together then and completed that on Sat. with a torque wrench.
Sorted out the wiring harness for the motor, hoses on the radiator, now I am looking for a stock v-8 radiator, this one leaked like porcupines had wrestle Mania XXV on it, water flowed from everywhere on it. Looking to finally crank it up in about a week before we start on a body. Wish me luck!

Not this year, that would be valuable time I need to turn a few wrenches. I am building it in Ft. White, about 30 minutes north of Gainesville. Had to do it where the tools are. Just ordered a few parts from Auto Krafters, Hope to see them by Friday so I can get the clutch equalizer fabricated, with the motor back 3" and down 3" I have to extend the mount on the motor.

Thanks for the offer of help, when it get to the point of setting the body (OK Bodies, another one has been started) on I might just take you up on it.

The holidays have passed, the time to get back to work has arrived.
After a little over a year the first attempt to start the 300 came.
using the harness from the wood chipper we were ready,
the wiring, Check, fuel, check , new battery, check, turn the key,NADA.
Jumped the solenoid, nada, bad solenoid.
Jumped across the solenoid, she turns over, no fire, dammitt, checked, only 2.4v to the coil, jumper to coil jumped across solenoid, less than 1 revolution, she roars to life!!
After many years of sitting god knows where or for how long my little 300 from a woodchipper purrs like a t-rex, nice and smooth, no smoke, no noises. but you can hear the torque.
Now I can finally justify to the better half my trips to the shop to work on the Bronco.
Can't wait to get started on the body, she is still just a rolling chassis but one step closer, a huge step!!

Wow she sounds nice! It's been great watching you put together this one-of-a-kind Bronco. When do you think you'll lower a body on her?

Depends on how much I get up to work on it. The shop being 2 hours away makes it tough, BUT, my company is starting a project at Ft. Benning Ga. and that should play into my evil scheme to sneek in a few extra hours.
Being realistic, I have to get the rear disc's, brake lines, fuel tank, and fuel lines in then I can start on the body. Unless I can get some donations (hint hint) more than likely it will be mid summer, but the Turkey Run is a definate possibility this year.

After the motor was running we put her in low range and granny on the 435 to let the gearboxes get some lube flowing, I know the exaust sounds bad but it is only a temp, straight pipe. I think whne she is running I am going to have some fun with the torque of the motor.

Look for an industrial from Ford power. Mine is from an industrial wood chipper. It was found at an equipment auction.

I think you're going to love that 300 when you actually get her out on the road. I had a 300 in my EB for a couple years, it's in my '83 Bronco now.

Spent today completing the strip of the 86 F150, got it down to bare frame, cut off some things off the frame that can be used for future projects, Rear spring mounts, rear upper shock mounts, front Spring mounts(looks like they could be used on an EB with a built in shock mount) tons of bolts/nuts.
Have a few things that could also be used on an EB saved, Hyd. Clutch setup with external slave cyl. Steering column, rear end(anyone need an 8.8?), shocks, rear springs.
The items I have/will use from the donor. Misc. 300 parts, 435 tranny, 2wd steering box for 4x4x2 swap, rear wiring harness, brake lines, Eq block. along with other misc small parts.

I already posted the go, today was about whoa.
Used the eq. from the f-150, had to fab up a bracket, got the rear line run, The one from the donor was perfect. cleaned them up and looks like new.
Next weekend I finish the front disc, and work on the rear drums. Ordering the 23 gal. sending unit and having the stainless 23 gal welded up. then I can finally say, I am working on the body!!! It is so close I can taste it, and it tastes GOOD!!!

Autozone sucks!!! LOL well at least the idiot that works there and I was a little bit of an idiot too.
Got my calipers in Orlando, drive 2 hours to work on my Bronco, wrong calipers, they gave me the 2wd ones, back to Autozone in Lake City, they swap them out no problem, 30 min. drive back to the shop, dammit, they gave me 2 right side. Install one, looks great. Back to Autozone, 45 min to get them to understand why I only brought one back with 2 cores.
I am up and headed out back to pull a few things off the donor then back to the shop to finish the front disc's. Will try to get some pics today, I know how you guys like pics.

I am hoping that the first weekend next month I will be starting body work. The body should go faster than the rest..
