Sealing dipstick port

I'm about to drop my oil pan to replace my rear main seal. The piece that's riveted into the oil pan to accept the dipstick leaks a decent amount between that part and the pan itself. What's the best way to re-seal it? Drill the rivets and use RTV or can it be welded without warping the pan?

I removed the rivets and drilled and tapped for 1/4-28 bolts. Added three more bolts also, for a total of 7 bolts. Removed the gasket and just sealed with RTV. Let the RTV set for a week to fully cure before adding oil... No leaks!!!

First one I had a good welder braze it on.
Second I just RTVd it and used bolts instead of rivets. Both worked just fine.

My mistake was It didn't leak to begin with, pulled the engine cleaned it all up did nothing put it back in and it leaks at 2 of the rivets very little. Wish I had seen a thread like this 1st. going to be a pain now that its back together. A little jb worked for about 3 months ugh

I welded mine and then brazed the tube in place. But the brazing cracked as soon as I put in that bolt that holds the tube to the block. I gooped the shit out of it and it worked for a summer but then leaked again. I just got a new pan, gasket, pickup, tube and stick from duffs. $250 bucks but im tired of that shitty stock oil pan. Im gona pull it and throw it as far as I can after I smash the crap put out it with a BFH!!!
