Suggestion on Wood Steering Wheel ?

Hi All,

I picked up a 1977 EB which was partially restored years ago - it runs and drives ok but needs a new steering wheel to become street legal... My plan is to get the car up and running so I can actually use it a bit before I start my own restoration...

Oh and what size are people using it seems like its 15 vs 13 inch? For now im using the stock steering column so I assume a 13 inch is the safer choice?


I've feel like I've looked all over the internet and keep going back to the Steering Wheel Classic Ford Bronco has used in several off their builds. I've not got any traction in trying to buy it directly so wonder if anyone know of something similar or where they might source it from? here's a photo from their website:

Nardi wood wheel

On my 77 I put 15” Nardi wood wheel Few days ago I put on the adapter there almost 100 bucks plus the wheel

I think you'll find something that will work here. http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/Mustang/Steering/ This is the route I think I'm going - $20, including shipping, found here from one of our Bronco brothers. An adapter from Amazon is on it's way $22. It'll take a bit to resuscitate, but that's part of the challenge!

Personally, I prefer the larger diameter wheel.

Nice. I'm getting a Nardi and I've heard you have to have an adapter milled. Where did you get yours?

When i got mine I sanded ,stained and refinish . You get a much better color and look.

Having had both a 13" and a 15" of different types, the 15" is a better wheel.
I had a wood wheel once, but had issues with it drying out and warping. But it was parked outside in the AZ summers, so pretty severe conditions. Just the basic Grant(?) wheel.

Jason at BC Bronco updated my interior and he sourced the steering wheel. A nice touch is the script Bronco on the horn button.

All of these look nice, but I like the Nardi the best. A thinner steering wheel I think looks sharp.

Now I'm a little biased because I ran with a Nardi in a CJ7 for 13 years. I've still got the steering wheel and have considered adapting it to the EB. The downside is that it has aged and needs refinishing.
