This weekend I did an assessment of what I need to address on the Bronco.
I swapped from the 37x14x15 Irocs to 35x12.5R15 BFG mud terrains. Figure the BFGs will be better for the pavement driving. Decided to check brakes while wheels were off and found a bad wheel cylinder. Then found a bad u-joint on the driveshaft. Then found... My list is growing.

I have not chimed in on this before because I have not been to Bronco Safari. But I have been to Moab several times in both my Bronco and my Rubicon. Both had 35's at the time. 35's will get you through almost everything except possibly Area BFE and Pritchett Canyon. Must do's are Fins N Things, Hell's Revenge, Top of the World (for scenery), and 1/2 Poison Spider-Golden Spike-Gold Bar Rim. Doing those will get you to some of the most famous obstacles: Golden Crack, Hell's Gate, Mickey's Hot Tub, Escalator, Tip Over Challenge, V-Notch. Definitely do Hell's Gate - just keep high on the right side so you don't fall into the V!

You're ahead of the game ;D I'm in the process of swapping in an engine and wiring up EFI. The list goes on

Yall are both doing better than me, Im still working on a motor/ wiring harness/ everything under the hood swap on my street bronco getting ready for super celebration. I havn't even started on the crawler. The list for it is getting smaller by the day as reality is setting in.

I look foward to seeing your rig Jsmall. Ive followed the build.

Thanks Scoop, I'll have to look up those trails and obstacles this evening.

The "book" is good but just keep in mind that its written from the perspective of a stock or mildly modified Jeep. Your setup should be able to do most of the red trails. Metal Masher is a really good trail too.

My current list has 70 items on it that I need to finish up. Some items are small and can be finished easily and some will take a lot longer to complete.

Looking forward to meeting you. We ended up getting a house this year, but we plan to be in the campground most evenings to mingle and signup for trails.

Last year was my first year and we ran Metal Masher the 2nd day we were there and it was my second favorite trail that we did. Cliffhanger was my favorite.

Day 1 - Hell's Revenge
Day 2 - Metal Masher
Day 3 - Gold Bar Rim to Golden Crack
Day 4 - Cliffhanger
Day 5 - Walked Coyote Canyon with Robert Warke and some of his crew

I'm hoping to run Poison Spider Mesa, Moab Rim, Kane Creek and a few more this year.

Interesting - you did Gold Bar Rim to Golden Crack and then back out the same way? I've always done Golden Crack from the other direction. Doing 1/2 Poison Spider, Golden Spike and Gold Bar Rim is a full day. Took 8-9 hours last time I did it. That's with a long lunch near Where Eagles Dare. I have not done all of Cliffhanger. We did the 3 entry ledges and got to just past the creek but then it got really crowded with side-by-sides so we turned around. Just the 3 entry ledges were pretty tough!!

Kane Creek is not that hard. It has lots of narrow shelf trail though. Ransil did not like it!! We did Moab Rim and started it in the afternoon. We came back down it in the dark. That was fun!

Yes, we went out and back on Gold Bar Rim. I think that was to speed things up and not be out there all day.

Cliffhanger was amazing!! From the first ledges off the road to the Cliffhanger obstacle and everything in between. Full day of good times

Great pictures JSmall. Cliffhanger looks amazing but I may have to do it with my eyes closed. I'm not a big fan on riding on the edge of the world but maybe I can get used to it.

Just the names of some of those trails is frightening! My wife would beat my right arm to a pulp if I took her there.

I'm sure my wife will let me know if I'm too close to the edge - and that's OK because I would want to know!

Have your wives practice saying "To da right, to da right!" in a German accent!

I have seen that before but I had to watch it again and laughed the whole time. I don't think my wife would be that calm!
