My 69 Bronco has kind of a wierd option. Looking through pics i see lots of dash pics but very few with a throttle. My 69 has a throttle. Why it has this option i do not know. There is no PTO for a winch. Any one have any ideas why and if its a rare option.

My '69 did not come with one (per Marti), but the replacement dash (from a '71-72) that came with it did have the hand throttle. I'd like to hook it up, but I don't have the pedal mechanism for it.

I don't have numbers off the top of my head, not real common, but they were available in the early years.
I have had two with the option, but only one bronco had all the parts still on it.

The Bronco may have been Dealer built for the lot, so that a PTO option could have been added?

My 72 came with it, though no reason like a winch for it. Made for a cheap cruise control. 😉 I think I did use it for faster idle warm up in the winter until I put the Holley on it and didn’t hook it up.

I have more questions than answers.
Yeah, I've seen that. But I'm so far over budget on this project now that $60 + frt is not appealing. I've thought about building one from spare metal I've got laying around.

If you have a manual transmission with a floor shift, get a gear shifter assembly from a bicycle and mount to your shifter and throttle assembly

Hmm, mine hooks to the gas pedal not the carb. The choke cable goes to the carb.

The hand throttle was just an option. Not tied into a PTO, winch, or anything else. Remember the Bronco was intended as a farm vehicle that could be used for going to town. So it had features of a truck in the 60s. One of which, the abality to hold a fast idle at will. More of a set the idle to cruise the pasture at desired speed or just get the engine warmed up on a cold day. We are talking days of not so great fuel quality and hand choke carburator engines. I can remember the days where my brother would drive us to school and I was tasked with starting the old Plymouth up and I could get a ride and not have to take the bus. Trying to get the engine fired up, kept running long enough to stay running on its own. The best I could hope for was the fast idle cam was working with the choke. Some days it did, other days it took a bit of teasing the engine to stay alive long enough to run without interventation. And that Plymouth was a decade newer than the Bronco. And civilized with an automatic choke. But still a 3 on the tree.

The latest I’ve confirmed with it was a 75 Sport I had a while back, but I don’t know that it was ever completely discontinued. So at least 66-75. It’s much less common after 72, I will say.

When I drove my 69 bronco back from Colorado to Virginia in 1996 I used the throttle control as a cruise control! It actually worked well as I stayed around 55 mph as the Aux tank leaked and I couldn't use it. If I went any faster it burned gas too quickly! It did have a PTO winch. There were a lot of fuel stops!

I never did because it would only stay in one position for a few moments when driving. Some of yours must’ve been a little tighter.
I had hoped maybe they were some sort of twist lock, but that didn’t seem to be the case
