Turn signal gremlins?

Evening all. I've done a fair amount of searching/referencing manuals/etc, but I have an electrical 'anomaly' that I'd like to see if I can get some help with.

Background - I have a 74+ column (with column hazard) and a new Centech harness.

Issue - Hazards work like a champ, but I have no blinkers.

This is what I cannot grasp (and maybe its by design) but hear me out...I've determined with my voltmeter that I have no voltage on the red/black wire that goes first to the hazard switch, and is then jumpered over to the turn signal assembly. If I remove all other connections, I show 12v on both the hazard terminal and the turn signal assembly. As soon as I start connecting other wires, the 12v 'goes away' on the red/black wire. It seems to me that there HAS to be 12v on the turn assembly in order for the blinkers to be powered, right?

I'm befuddled. Am I missing something here? I don't mind buying a new turn signal assembly, but I'm not sure that will fix whatever nonsense I have going on at the moment. Anyone got any ideas?

Here are the wire connections (compliments of Viperwolf's old post):

'74-'77 Column Connections
Blue=12v from turn flasher to turn switch, circuit #44
white-blue=right front turn and indicator lamp, circuit #2
green=right rear brake and turn lamp, circuit #282
green-white=left front turn and indicator lamp, circuit #3
yellow-black=left rear brake and turn lamp, circuit #283
red-black=12v brake switch to turn signal switch, circuit #810
blue-yellow=12v horn relay to horn switch, circuit #1
white-red=12v from hazard flasher to hazard switch, circuit #385
blue-red=12v from headlight switch to PRNDL light, #19

That red-black wire is brake lights. It's not the same as turn signal power. Turn signal power is blue. The position of the turn signal switch will affect the voltage.

I think it breaks down like this, but don't trust me just yet.

The hazard switch sends a pulse (Hazard flasher) to your two front turn signal lamps, and your brake light circuit.

Your turn signal switch over rides your rear brake light on the signal side so it will signal as you brake into a turn.

The turn signal switch essentially shuts off one brake light, and powers it with your signal flasher.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Viperwolf - the blue wire goes first to one side of the hazard switch (verified 12v there) and it seems I've located my issue...apparently the wire has a bad connection where it is attached to the hazard switch. If I wiggle it, the turn signals will temporarily work. That terminal isn't serviceable/replaceable, so I might have no choice but to replace the entire switch assy.

Thanks all for the help locating my problem...
