Bump for an update.
Christmas gift giving and New Years Fireworks has set me back.
I haven't yet pulled the parts back out after putting them away. I was afraid that they would get lost during the holiday parties.

The mog/9s are on my mind...

I got some progress done today cutting down the 9" housing...
Measure twice, cut once..

I settled with 68" overall WMS to WMS.
The 9" housing is 37.5" flange to flange.
Centerline offset is 0.75" (3/4") passenger side.

Looks great!! Besides the fit of the tube on tube for the end flanges, how do you plan on ensuring they remain inline with each other?

To get it squared, I'll hunt down an alignment bar and bushings/flanges from my machinist friend who did the mog flanges for me. I'll shoot my lazer to get ends clocked inline.

Got swap axle shafts driver to passenger and end gear.
3 5/8" too short for the 9" housing. Simple fix.

You shorten the entire axle or are you having one new inner made?
I'm using the original mog inner axles and getting them cut down to size.
I had to swap the axles driver to passenger side.
3.75" (3 3/4") will be cut off the long axle shaft and 2.375" (2 3/8") will be cut off the short axle shaft.
Original Mog axles shafts have alot of beef...

Pinion centerline will be .75" off center to the passenger side.
Long shaft will be 31 11/16" overall.
Short shaft will be 25 5/8" overall.

So the diff will be about 3" off center of axle.
Going to have oil pan clearance issues @ full stuff??
