Upper ball joint zerk interference

So I'm finally assembling my front end and everything is going great except this stupid zerk fitting. My new upper ball joints did not have a 90 degree zerk on the side, it's on the bottom and too close to the axle shaft.

Anyone else run into this? I'm going to remove the zerk and install the plugs that came with it. I guess greasing the upper will be a huge pain when it comes time to refresh the grease.

That’s it. And they make 90° angle grease fittings as well. So you don’t have to disassemble everything to grease.
Get in there, remove the plug, put in 90, grease, replace it with the plug. Yes, it is a royal pain. But it can be done.
Otherwise, I agree with your assessment that you may never have to grease it again.
The existing grease will eventually get old, rather than dirty or worn out. But you sure won’t have to do it very often.

The Moog upper ball joints have the grease fitting located out on the edge instead of centered. Just an FYI for next time.
