WH Super 9 Housing Question

About ready to put down some coin on the WH Super 9 housing. Only question I have about it is: Can anyone confirm that the spring perchs are welded in at 6* angle, therefore eliminating the need for 6* wedges? I need the 6* to get my pinion angle where it needs to be for my setup and don't want to use wedges anymore. I couldn't get a resounding "YES they're at 6* " from the WH guys I talked to so I figured someone here might have the answer. TIA

Cut them off and weld them on how you want?

I would have them ship the leaf spring mounts loose myself if they can't provide you with a definitive answer...plus, no two rigs seem to be exactly alike, so I can't really blame them for not wanting to commit.

I am looking for an angle finger and will get you a more exact measurement. stand by.

Edit: between 6 and 7 degrees. You should be fine to not run a shim under your leaf spring pack.

First, thanks for your help! I'm assuming the angle shown at the center section face is taken with your spring perch's sitting exactly level. I did the same thing on my old housing and got 66* at the CS face without my wedges. So with 6* wedges installed and measured level, the CS would rotate up and the indicated angle would be 60*. Looks like the safest approach as others have mentioned, would be to get the housing without the perch's welded on and fit them up as needed. I was just hoping to save a bit of welding...oh well!

Well, I called WH Tech Support and they verified that the perch's are welded up to give 6* extra pinion angle for folks with larger suspension lifts. Gonna take their word for it and ordered up a housing. Looking forward to getting my old, abused, horse back on the road!

Well, got the housing in 2 days and it is a nice housing. Still had some issues with the spring perch welded positions, which WH, to their credit, made right. Lesson learned is this; if you need a housing made that has anything but stock position perch's welded on, order it with perch's that you weld on in the positions you need them to be. Kudo's to WH working with me on this and to their very fast shipper. Look forward to getting this setup finished up and rolling again!
