I bought a couple Explorers for future projects. I am retiring in the next few months because I have lost interest in working. This will free up time for things I wanna do. I bought the Explorers cause I wanted efi, OD, serpentine...all the good stuff.

Looks like EFIGUY is maybe still doing harnesses and reprogramming, but with restrictions.

So what is the new setup...I want efi and OD

I faced this exact dilemma just a few months ago. I was all set with Explorer EFI components, ECM, harnesses, and I even had an appointment with EFI guy to rework the harness and Flash the computer.
Unfortunately, due to emissions controls laws, EFI guy was not able to delete EGR or other components so I would have had to run at bare minimum with a check engine light all the time.
I opted to go with Edelbrock proflo 4 for several reasons. First and most importantly, you are not faced with legal limitations regarding the programming. Second, the computer is not part of the throttle body, which seems to be causing all the Holly guys grief. Thirdly, it is Port EFI and not throttle body EFI. Lastly, all of the Explorer or Mustang computers from Ford donor vehicles are getting long in the tooth and it may be hard to replace components at some point in time.
I watched the videos on Nashville early Bronco:
which were extremely helpful in making the decision.
The install went great, it was fairly easy and it looks clean. I'm actually planning my initial startup since 2006 later today or possibly tomorrow! I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheap, easy, reliable, factory supported efi.

What about a trans.....you running AOD somehow?

LS fits nicely in there. What I might end up doing is keeping my daily driver bronco carbed and original....sell the explorers and find a new project that is LS friendly.

15 years ago, mustang or explorer efi's were only choice. It's not likely a printed circuit from the 80's can last 40 years.

Sniper came out and fell on its face, they couldn't get 1980 tech to work in 2015.

Out of all my research with ford EFI, sniper, etc, I would go proflow. But, my quadrajet is running too good to worry about it right now.

I'm in the same boat. Been collecting parts to go explorer efi on the next motor but if had no problem s running the q-jets. Wondering if I will be adding headaches not to mention the added cost.

Single point of failure....not good
I would argue that explorer ECMs are easy to find and cheap. If you have EFIguy program your ECM you might as well have a backup or 2 cloned at the same time. How much would it cost to have a backup ECM for an off the shelf system?

That issue causing me grief on a current engine build. I have no choice but use a TBI solution on the engines in question. Being a Holley EFI guy and end user for decades now, the Sniper solution was obvious. And then all the problem reports started stacking up....now I'm unsure what to do. There is a new TBI EFI supplier called Aces or something like that...I dunno...

And what happens when he’s not doing that anymore? Again single point of failure and those swaps will be done and gone.

you have one :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I'm just kidding, I know that solution is not for everyone. I just couldn't resist; the temptation was too strong to not throw that out there. I know it is not for everyone and not for every build. They do almost bolt in though...... and control the transmission....... I'll stop, I'm not being any help and just stirring the pot. I hope by now everyone knows to not take me too serious on this subject, its all about building what you want, how you want it. Often that makes perfect sense and sometimes none at all.

An LS would literally solve all these problems....I just can't though.

And not to mention the explorer swaps all mainly rely on one guy that has also been limited by the EPA.
Yeah but really, its not a check engine light its a code you read when you want it, so no egr delete? So what, in fact, you van make the canpurge stuff work with the efi computer, ignore the egr
