I'm reading some other forums that suggest a 4r70w has either a 7 or 8 tooth drive gear. Just FYI.

Don't you just calibrate the aftermarket speedo and therefore it doesn't matter what gear you have in there?

Which exact Autometer speedometer are you using? What part number?

What is the exact tire size, based on a measurement rather than the numbers on the sidewall?

And since the speedometer drive gear is in the transfer case in our case, which transfer case are you using? Original Dana 20, or something else?
If original, what year and was it originally connected to the C4 transmission?

The aftermarket speedometer is the wild card. If it is old school cable drive, the factory ratio is probably correct. If it is modern electronic, read the instructions as there is probably a calibration procedure that will let any gear work.
